Are the trees self-pollinating or do you have male and female trees in the mix? Also, how about any bumblebees or honeybees in your area? I too would love to have fruit trees but my late Dad had to spray them in the springtime in order to get any decent looking fruit, otherwise they were really malformed or non-existant. I miss the cherry trees (not their heights) and peach trees.

I got 2 that are self pollinating but Kobe of the pears were and I dont have room for 2 of any one maybe they will pollinate eachother lol
I assume this is why they have the fruit trees with multiple types of each fruit I always thought it was strange and unnatural but it makes sense now

I hope so anyway I ordered the ones for my correct zone and they are similar just a different type my Didi grew. I have a ton of raspberry bushes and will see my blackberries flourish this year - only got two last year lol
Fingers crossed all goes well

I just called the farm and reserved 20 boxes of Dragon Wing Begonias. Now if only it wasn't going to snow tomorrow

Excited to see people posting their garden-related news and pictures!
It is probably just me, but wouldn't it make sense for this thread - and the canning thread - to be in the "Home and Garden" section rather than the "Canadian Shopping/Deals/Bragging" section?

Never knew there was a cherry-plum cross or Chum tree! Sounds yummy! I'm an apricot fan-no one tried to grow a tree from the numerous pits of fresh apricots. Probably need a hothouse to ensure the tree thrives on the Niagara Escarpment where I am.
I have relatives in lower Stoney Creek and their gardens tend to start and to grow earlier than what happens in Ancaster gardens (mild envy)-delay, maybe hail, cold winds, then summery weather.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Let the games begin!
Started planting in the front yesterday because it gets full sun all day (not that I would recognize the sun if it hit me in the head).
Alyssum, Dragon Wing Begonias, Fire something begonias lol, giant Salvia, Cleopatra Canna Liliy, Celosia
All this to plant still, it's too cold

@Patty Smyth , your garden is going to be beautiful! Can hardly wait for some warm weather here in AB. It may snow overnight...

I thought I posted these already
The trees were just put in on a 45 degree angle until I had the city come
They have since been planted I have also started the veggies in the back beside the raspberries I'll have to take some more pics
