Made it to West Van in about 10.5 hrs. Stopped at a huge fruit and veg stand-fresh, great prices and 10% off for seniors day! Diinner will include fresh corn on the cob, raspberries we brought from our backyard and BBQ chicken! I also bought 10 lbs of peaches-DD has been begging for five star peach pie and I told her I would make it once they were in season. I guess a tornado touched down near Calgary today so glad we missed that and hoping not too much damage for others. It certainly does look dry out here although we drove through some rain and hail.

@jasperandchar This article from cbc that I read this morning says: "The Canadian dollar dropped to levels not seen since 2004 on Wednesday" and "Canada is likely headed into recession".

Earlier this month was the first time I travelled to the US in a year and a half so I had no idea the exchange rate was so bad. According to this article the decline of the Canadian dollar started when the oil prices started dropping.

I have reached the midway point of this week for me since I am working this weekend. Really trying to be positive and look at the weekends I work as they are what they are but gotta admit it is hard when you are having a horrible week and you just want it to be over. Not sure what is up lately but I have been battling horrible headaches for weeks, I thought I finally got over it but yesterday it came back worse, it was making me feel sick, started effecting my sinuses, went down my neck into my shoulder and then started going down my arm as we were trying to grocery shop last night. By the time we got home I was done. I am feeling better today but that dull pain is still there, it is manageable and workable right now but I have huge fear it could come back before the day is over.

Time to get back to work, have a great day everyone.

@SassyAshley Have you tried going to the chiropractor? I get neck pain and tension headaches from stress and chiropractic adjustments provide relief.

I hope you feel better soon. Is your depression seasonal if it happens every summer?

I am feeling better, thank you! No stitches. It was basically a really large surface scrape.

I kept the wounds covered for as long as I could, but I think my skin reacted to the latex in the bandage. Now I'm swollen from the wounds and the reaction, not to mention this new swelling is horribly itchy!! It must be an older bandage because all the new ones are latex-free, aren't they?

I'm leaving it up to you lovely ladies to try and distract me from scratching. Argh!!

2kg of brown sugar $2.49 (1kg is $2.29 at No Frills)
5kg of quaker oatmeal $7.49 (a 1kg bag is over $2 at No Frills)
2 pk large cans of cooking spray $6.49 (No Frills no longer sells the PC brand 400g cans so I've been buying it at Zehrs for $5.49 for 1 can)

Then I'm hearing flour may go up because wheat crops in the US are doing bad because of the drought in the west. Should I stock up on flour too? Ahhhhh what to do???!!!
The prices on some of the baking materials at Costco is amazing. They have the best price I've seen on vanilla extract and they have a 25 lb of flour for $6.89! They also have good sales on dried cranberries.

I found the homo milk for that price too! I thought I was dreaming, but I did get two for LO, some for cooking, some for drinking. She guzzles the stuff, which is probably why she's seven pounds heavier than another girl who's one year older! Yes, poor mommy.... I was so jealous when I picked up the other girl. Such a light little monkey. Sigh.

Forgot to respond for this one. I think we'd splurge on NetFlix ($7.99), special family outings like the zoo, and gifts. For mommy, I'd set aside a little for stockpiling, and I'm sure daddy would want his daily Tim Horton's coffee. I'm trying to break him of the habit, but he drives so far and for so long for work, it's more like insurance that he stays awake for the trip.

I only got about 5.5hrs of sleep last night and I haven't napped much this week. I gave up on sleep at 6am. LO got up at 7am. Dh is still sleeping, but that is ok. LO and I leaving town by 10am for our drive to Saskatoon. I have probably over packed, I wasn't surprised that dh said so. I just don't like having to quickly replace things. My mom's house still doesn't have the air conditioning installed, even though this has been planned for months and I really can't handle the heat. I haven't been looking forward to this trip, primarily because we will be leaving dh behind. If I'm not in labour before August long, then dh will come up to visit that weekend.

    Good morning, everyone.

Think it's going to be one of those days. On our way out to spy on the neighbours with Lily dog, I somehow managed to take three stairs instead of one. I managed to land on my feet, but my right hand was still clutching the railing. Lily dog thought this was some sort of new game, so she quickly dashed up a couple of stairs and stared at me. She was rather annoyed I no longer wanted to play. She didn't think a wrenched shoulder merited any sympathy & insisted we sit outside for a bit. I must admit that the fresh air did help with the ouchie.

Going to take it easy today & hope I didn't do too much damage (the ouchie is already mostly gone). So it will be something easy to heat up for dinner and no cooking for me (maybe this isn't so bad after all - an excuse not to do housework ). But I dare not tell the brats that I'm too injured to bake cookies - I might have a riot on my hands!

Off to play on the computer for a bit before napping with the brats. A kitty heating pad should help my shoulder.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Buy him a nice and new fancy coffee thermos and special coffee cream for a treat. The ones we bought at Canadian Tire stay piping hot for hours! Once he gets into the habit he will prefer it (hopefully lol)

Today is my Friday since I took tomorrow off . Will take my little man to his hockey camp and watch for awhile. Then will do groceries. Then shower and off for a special date afternoon/evening with my man. We have free tickets for a show at the casino (and sold our 2nd set ) Will use our free vouchers to eat lunch and dinner. Take a break and go to the waterfront park and take a stroll. Looking forward to us time. Has been a crazy few weeks. Thankful for Grandma and her help

Bobbiegirl I have done physio which helped that was years ago and honestly until recently it has not been bad. They have suggest massage therapy but it is not covered under our plan and things are just way to tight money wise right now to even consider it. Hoping it will pass and become a distant memory soon but only time will tell. If it is not better by the end of next weekend I will go back to the doc and see what he says. Although I must say the Robax I took last night worked wonders just sad I did not bring any to work with me today.

I so want to try Robax but I'm scared to be dependant on it. I just need a new job where I don't sit at a computer all day!! Or just win the Lotto so I can retire )

He used to make espresso and take it with him in the mornings, but he never remembered whether or not he shut off the stove. Then we bought a coffee maker, but had no time to make coffee in the morning (he has to leave by 6:45 AM).

I got the pretty Contigo ones at Costco, hoping he'll fill up at the work coffee maker before he leaves for home. We'll see how that goes. If nothing else, he can save $0.10 on each Tim Horton's coffee. Fingers crossed! Unfortunately, it's really hard to use a refillable cup in the drive through since they always have it ready by the time you get to the window to hand it to them.
