Made dinner with lots of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Prepped chicken to toss in Crockpot in the morning so we can eat quick and healthy before hockey. No take out!

Even though it is double-star day at Starbucks I skipped a breakfast sandwich and coffee in favour of a hot cuppa at home and toasted homemade bread.

I used a diy online recipe to make a hair product instead of buying it.

read the gas meter and called in the reading to Enbridge
nice not to have an estimated gas bill, but get the real bill and hopefully lower cost

I posted this in deal of the week but maybe it belongs here instead/also :

Went to the PO to mail my taxes (I cannot file electronically) which needed $1.80 postage for each envi - I had pre-weighed on kitchen scale which is accurate to the one at my PO. Had a sheet of 85c stamps so just needed a 10c stamp to go with the 2 stamps on each envi. Postal clerk told me to just put another 85c stamp on each envi. I said no, I didn’t want to do that - I didn’t want to waste 75c plus tax x2. Then she said I could buy 2 x 10c stamps – duh! The clerks have told me to just add a stamp for 3 out of the last 4 years when my tax envis were just over the 2 stamps weight. The first year I followed blindly then realized the unnecessary expense. So save $1.50 + GST by being on my toes

It isn't a today-only thing, but I spent $0 on fast food of any kind for the month of April, including no prepared food from grocery stores, no coffees, etc.

I really wanted Chinese last night but went home and made dinner instead. (Also cleaned the kitchen spotless and scrubbed the kitchen sink!) The fridge got a good cleaning too. Had we had Chinese I`m sure none of that would have got done lol
