In other celebrity endorsement news, Canadian actor Donald Sutherland openly supported the NDP earlier in the week.
"Put in Mulcair … or if you can't put in Mulcair put in Trudeau's son, Justin," Sutherland told CP24, as he promoted Forsaken at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The veteran actor, who is the son-in-law of NDP founder Tommy Douglas, has been an outspoken critic of federal voting restrictions for expatriates.

So... President Snow wants Mulcair as PM? That's frightening right there!

This is some of the info that has convinced me, one article of many.
It may not convince others.

"In 1989 Harper was a member of the Northern Foundation (NF) about the same time that he became policy chief of the Reform Party. The exclusive mandate of the NF was to counter the serious efforts of the Canadian government of Brian Mulroney to pressure the South African government to release Nelson Mandela from prison and to end apartheid.
The membership of the NF read like a who's who of the far right in Canada. Many, if not all, of its members were also members of the Reform Party. In 1991 Harper told Trevor Harrison, who was researching his PhD on the Reform Party (later a book entitled Of Passionate Intensity): "I helped establish something called the Northern Foundation before it (much later) deteriorated into a kind of quasi-fascist organization. I was actually expelled from it. It's got stranger and stranger." Yet there was no doubt about what the organization stood for when Harper was still a member. And by his own account he didn't leave voluntarily."

No, it doesn't convince me. There's dozens of sites out there claiming the same thing and referencing each other as sources. I take it you didn't read the reddit link I posted? Many posters tried to get to the bottom of this, some with access to paper records at universities (since this was pre-internet). That thread is well researched, links are provided and the conclusion is that these claims are total bs.

As I said earlier, if this was true the real media and the other political parties would be all over it.

If you want to defeat Harper, that's fine. But do it with the truth, not with lies.

And Harper is now denying that he ever said that hundreds of missing women in Canada are not high on his radar.

The UN is calling for an inquiry into the hundreds of missing women. Canadians are calling for inquiries. Harper is playing games.

The missing women are a tragedy. My family is First Nations/Native/Aboriginal/Indigenous so I'm sadly aware of the issues that face many First Nations communities. I had to take my family away from a First Nations community in 2007 because it wasn't safe for them. When verbal assaults turn to physical and sexual assaults it's time to go.
