All of the papers I have seen on legalizing it in Canada are following the rules for alcohol, 19 and don't sell to someone intoxicated (plus some limits on the amount you can buy at once)

The Vaughan–Woodbridge MP says he hasn’t talked with anyone in his riding who favours loosening marijuana laws to the point where there would be actual businesses tailored to selling the drug.


“I can tell you, marijuana in coffee shops is a no-go here,” he told me. “I am pretty plugged into this community that I have lived in since 1981, it’s where I raised my family, and I can tell you it is not something that is wanted.”

Misleading headline - he brings up some of Trudeau's good points, so they are compliments, not an endorsement.

Question - I know all of us here seem pretty much decided but do you guys think that an endorsement from a newspaper, tv station, celebrity can sway a voter? . What do I care if the owner of the Gazette or CTV or for that matter the head of a corporation or union think.

Well no one really knows what the policy will look like. The lobbyist groups haven't had their chance at it either.

I can't imagine that they would come up with something unilaterally, without public consultation.

Also I think since they are dealing with the issue as a health issue, it's certainly that they will put restrictions on the strength of products that can be sold, the amount, etc.

I hope they offer Air Miles so they can capture everyone's demographics That's what they do with LCBO Air Miles data - they use it in health studies. (They pay you in Air Miles for the info.)

No, the policy could be very different, but since some of these papers are from policy groups that work for the Libs, it seems to be their starting point. Even after public consultation, they could raise the age at committee before the bill is passed too.

I think the majority read a paper that aligns with their views anyway so I don't see the point.
As far as celebrities, it is not worth alienating fan base, unless you are super political from the start and people know your views, bad idea.

at the news, they say the francphone vote in qc is even for 3 parties.....so...we never know in qc who will win in some areas

2 of the guys who work at the election night on LCN told yesterday there are something around 27 areas they can't figure out to wich party they will go.....and they said it's unusual
