Good morning, everyone.
Busy day today. I have to clean up the kitchen (spent last night turning dry bread into breadcrumbs and even after 2 rounds with the vacuum and a thorough hunt by the chow hound, there are stray crumbs on the floor). Later on, I'm off to Mackenzie House with a friend (sheesh, I live downtown and never think to check out all the interesting things the city has to offer).
Better get going and brush the brats before company arrives and thinks I've lost my mind and I'm trying to serve breaded kitty.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

good morning ladies! Been in a baseball vortex lately! ha ha Just keep watching different games on tv. Never did make that stew last night, i discovered ( after turning the freezer inside out ) that I had no beef! Tons of chicken and fish there, but they do not make a yummy stew to me. So a change of menu is needed for tonight. Still though there is actually enough odds and ends foods and leftovers in the fridge for anyone to have a meal, so I'm not hurrying this one into the pan just yet.

When I need cracker crumbs I put them in a zip lock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them. no fuss no mess. All the crumbs are contained in the bag...don`t know why it wouldn`t work for bread crumbs too.
Last night I picked some rhubarb from the garden. Cooked some with strawberries from the freezer, have a pie in the oven and a bit left to freeze. Will go out soon and pull the rest.
@avoncallingyou Sorry to hear about your ongoing water issues. Hope you can get it resolved soon.
@SassyAshley I know it`s been said before but you need to put yourself first sometimes. Sounds like your mom is acting like a spoiled child...she needs to put on her big girl panties and act like a grownup.

Gee, I've tried twice to get to sleep, but earlier I slept for only 15 minutes - what the heck, that's barely a nap!
So instead I decided to put on the chicken for soup tonight, and I'm here with sleepy eyes - I'll have to wait til after 1 to try sleep again.
For breadcrumbs, I wait til there's lots to do, then I whiz them in the food processor, and freeze them.

Did some baking early morning with ds2 made 2 vanilla depression (crazy or wacky) cakes and 2 choc. depression (crazy or wacky) cakes and they are both delish. Kept 1/2 of 1 choc out and same with vanilla others are in the freezer for my sweet tooth peeps when the cravings hit (lol). DH is still not home starting to get concerned as they were supposed to be back this am, MIL is not home so don't know if they left a message with her or not. Wondering if the truck broke as there was a weird noise when we came back the last time and of course dh never got it checked. Well that's all folks @lizzie bargain hope the flooding didn't affect your home in Calgary

well got our haircuts today hubby and I -such a great feeling as we have a wedding next Friday -my daughter-in-law's sister in toronto (we are not staying the whole evening as we are taking "ashlyn" back to Hamilton (so son and his wife can enjoy themselves at her only sister's wedding )as she will be a little flower girl -this should be interesting to see almost 2 year old flower girl and ring bearer is 2 also (some people have said to us I would' nt have watched "ashlyn" you are there to enjoy yourself ) well we are not drinkers (goodness if I drank alcohol,my mouth would be so worse than it is now -so dry right now even my lips are starting to dry out-no chapstick doesn't help -if I went on pills it may help -but don't care to just yet
-round 2 of thrift shopping I am taking my sister-in-law to value village on Thursday in the afternoon -as they are having 2 days of 50% off summer stuff)hubby's brother may work on my car as his foot feels better
