had an odd problem yesterday, started up computer a few hours after
it had been working fine and dandy, got some odd blue page i've never seen before
    (sorry have no copy).
so drove myself extra nuts trying to fix it - computer told me

i needed an admin or ? etc, didn't take notes (and should have)
after trying for quite a while to figure out wth
contacted the toshiba tech, (whose dialect and mine weren't well
matched) - blood pressure what blood pressure? as anyone who has spent a while
dealing with a problem already is a little perturbed knows,,

after taking forever to do what should not have, he tried the troubleshoot area
which ended in the you/we can't fix this, laptop has got to be taken in,
    - oh and could be the hard drive needs to be replaced!!!
and you have no warranty time left
asked the silly question what if i retried?, and answer no reason to, something
is missing in the partion (i think)

he then said goodby and that was that.

clicked the back option, and tried one of the other 4 options which was
here, HI and afraid to shut down - yikes
    almost afraid to shut down

so of course the question is do you know that guy?
or had a similar problem with toshiba,
worried i may not get back here for a few days.so

    shutting up now

It the blue screen problem. I have found results on YouTube that may work. I went to the library to view YouTube and took the sick computer along. The library has internet. The computer shop at Stapes charges $45 to $50 to diagnose. Then they charge more to fix.

Can you look online and give us an idea of what the blue screen looks like?

It sounds like it could be what I call "blue screen of death"

after the blue screen does it try and boot?

Does it have a restore partition on it? It might be a corrupt windows.

Do you need the files on the computer or do you just need it to work?

Does the computer have a DVD drive?

I've had a BSOD at least once with every version of windows. Usually a driver issue.
