My mom is sleeping so thought I would pop in and get caught up.

Praying for all those feeling under the weather physically and mentally.

My plan for today is to wash all the curtains in the living room and dinning room and hang outside.

Yesterday I vacuumed the whole upstairs cobwebs (we have a these spiders in the house that we just can't get rid of, however, many are now living in the vacuum canister). Also dusted our bedroom, vacuumed, washed the ceiling fan, all the bedding and curtains. I thought my mom would sleep in our room and I would take Logan's room, however, she wanted Logan's room as it's across the hall from the washroom. So anyways my room is so tidy & clean and I slept like a princess with the lovely smell of the sheets hung outside.

With dare I say it Cold & Flu season just around the corner, anyone want to take on the challenge to purchase those items before 'tis the season? I think quite a few took part last year and we were well prepared. So if anyone is interested the more the merrier' AND no pressure whatsoever.

    Wishing everyone a great day.
2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

I stocked up on diapers and wipes at the WM anniversary sale earlier this week. The coupons from Pampers arrived on Tuesday, so I went to WM that night. I used most of the coupons and also rebates from CO51 and Zweet. I bought 4 cases of Pampers, 2 cases of Huggies, and 3 cases of Pampers wipes. We'll be opening one of the cases of wipes by the weekend and the cases of diapers are mostly size 3. I saved $14 on the apps, and $28 in coupons. I paid $239.51 oop before the rebates. It's still a lot of money, but it definitely saves us a lot of money in the long run. I still have a few low value coupons left and CO51 has a $6 Huggies rebate wub2 this week. I might buy 2 packages this week before my printed Huggies coupons expire at the beginning of October.

Dh helped me get sleep last night. I nursed the babies and headed to bed just before 10pm. I nursed the twins one during the night before getting up with the twins at 6:45am. I got about 6.5hrs sleep which is the most I have gotten in a long time, especially since it was in 2 chunks. This is great timing because I have a lot that needs to get done today. Dh is running a booth at Estevan Showcase Expo this weekend, set-up is tonight.

Getting back to the meat discussion-I was about to pick up a chicken for $7 at No Frills this morning when I noticed Utility turkeys were on for .88 per lb. So instead I picked up a turkey for 9.75 which will be a lot of meals for our family. J and C- I guess you inspired me to have less meat for a few days-last night we had homemade mac and cheese and tonight I plan to make a pot of homemade lentil soup with just a bit of smoked sausage for flavour.

I do the same when Turkeys are on sale! Cook once and eat for days! Last year we picked up fresh Turkeys after a holiday for around 50 cents LB so I bought a few for the freezer!

I have an electric pressure cooker, the one I got does not say anything about pressure canning but I know there is another one on the market that does. I choose the one I have as it also makes yogurt which I hope to start doing shortly as our yogurt consumption is sky high. The nice thing about the electric one is it is a 1 in 7 model and it is more then just a pressure cooker. One word of advise the cook times they advertise are not factual, yes you potatoes cook in 9 minutes but you have to wait for the pressure to come up before cooking starts and then you have to wait for the pressure to drop before you can open the lid so in reality it more like 1/2 hour give or take. The real advantage I find not having to sit and babysit what I am cooking, I can toss something in walk away and wait for the beep at the end. As well as a household with no A/C on the main floor great for summer cooking as it does not heat up the house and there are a lot of things I can cook int he pressure cooker I cannot make in the slow cooker.
