jasper -you can ripen tomatoes by putting green ones in a brown paper bag and closing it for a few days or a week -just a tip my mom told me

-well took my brother to the hospital was there 2 and a half hours -I just squeezed in the time for hubby to go to work -cause I had to stop at giant tiger and get my free chocolate almonds

Was just looking through the Kijiji cars for sale ads. DS said he just wants a beater but I told him he needs to have enough money saved for maintenance and for car insurance. (I'm trying to encourage him to pay his insurance for the year then put the money away each month so he will always be ahead of the game) There are some cheap deals out there and really drive it to the ground and then buy the next cheap one. I do not want him driving my new vehicle!

Received a postcard from Domino's awhile ago saying "we miss you" Redeem for free medium 2 topping pizza ( I have ordered online pizza once in the past 5 years and it was from there lol" Just ordered online for DS... and totally free! He can eat a few slices quick before work since it's date night and we will be eating later (and probably something he wouldn't like anyway!)

I totally get the hobbies and pain thing. When I was still working...and crocheting was still a hobby...my sister used to ask me why I don`t quit crocheting. I told her that I didn`t enjoy my work and if I stopped doing the one thing I enjoy you might as well shoot me now. I`m glad I hung on because now my hobby has turned into a job that I love and don`t have to punch a time clock.
Dh looks forward to hunting all year and it's not something that he is willing to give up even with the pain.

You are very blessed that your hobby has turned into a paying hobby, great job & past time

Dairy free, like Almond Milk? Hmm! Perhaps and I could sweeten it with unpasteurized local honey. I might just give it a try. Thanks for helping me to "think out of the box."

After him not eating it for 2 days I cut the steak up in strips and his brother had awesome steak wraps in his camp lunch for 2 days! 2 Years ago we went camping the weekend after Labour day. My bestie and her family and us. We got 2 amazing waterfront campsites side by side. We had 3 dogs and 7 kids between us (older kids brought friends) and it was raining. We eat well even when camping so my friend was making simple hot dogs for dinner. We were having steak. My teen chose to eat hotdogs with them over steak lol So I don't worry about feeling bad anymore
BF makes steak for the boys as a treat. They get more excited about pork chops done in sauce or chicken alfredo than the steaks when im cooking (although i admit i make godawful steak). We try to do as much homemade not prefab food as we can when we have the boys because they get alot of stuff like chicken bugers sticks or nuggets from the frozen section at their moms.

The things i make they like the most are chicken alfredo, porkchops browned off then cooked in mushroom sauce, tacos, a stifry with cauliflower carrots broccoli and incban noodles and sliced up beef.

I took KD once cooked off 2 boxes of it then put a layer with scrambled up eggs (uncooked) peas and onions then a layer of hotdogs layer of kd layerof peas and hotdogs on top then a layer of kd with cheese on top and told them it was hot dog lasgana.

they really like spaghetti and meat sauce or lasagana (even when we use half ground bee half ground pork).

BF gets alot more creative than i do we get some super yummy meals (and leftovers for me when bf is at work because he tends to eat b efore he comes home)

A Friend invited me over tonight and gave me a bunch of worktops that are just my size. She has such a big heart and kept sneaking treats for the boys into the bag of tops. Will be making sure we invite her over for dinner sometime!

Just catching up on posts this week. I missed a couple birthdays and anniversary I saw so.. happy birthday! Happy anniversary!

    Meat Discussion...
Meat purchases haven't changed too much here. We buy a lot from Costco still. Prices have gone up there too. Especially on beef. Ground beef is still good price though and lasts us a long time. Steak is a treat now. I share a bigger Costco steaks with the kids (DH doesn't like). Chicken breasts still go on sale for ok price. $3.33 vs. $2.99. Stocked up on a few packs this week.

I used up a bunch of coupons this week that would be expiring September 30 - $2 dove body wash, $2 dempsters bagels, $1 Pam, $1 Greek yogurt. Not too much but actually had some good sales with coupons on stuff we can use for once! $21 in coupons... Haven't used that many in a long time!

Sold DDs change table on kijiji this week for same price we paid used! $40 was put towards BIL and SIL birthday gifts for this weekend. Found SIL gift on sale for $35 (reg. $70) so happy about that! And bought a Christmas gift for DD - smaller sized frozen backpack on clearance at Bentley. Saw one at Costco but it was so big for her.

-well I could have said to her I am not working (babysitting 8 times in a month ) and its fine -I don't feel I am missing out infact I walked to the library today there and back 20 minute walk each way -it was beautifull out
-plus I could have used the car the minute hubby walked in at 5.00 tonight -but noooo my darn gum was killing me it was inflamed had to take a half a Tylenol 3-so I wouldn't drive anyway -uggggg had to get that off my chest

Hi coupon girl! Yes, my friends seem to have outstripped me in the "money to spare" category. But they are all two income families or two pension families. When I do see them for lunch, I usually order soup and have a little snack before I go. Luckily we moved to a smaller, less expensive town and we do fine. I miss them all a lot but I couldn't keep up with their lifestyle any more

I do drink herbal tea, but I just miss a "real British cup of tea" now and then.
