I have got a situation at Walmart today!

I was at Copper Creek Walmart today and there was this couple who were complaining the he*l outta of this world about me holding up the line with pm and coupons. I have warned them that it will take some times already and I even apologized, but they still continues with the rudeness. Usually at situation like this I will just keep quiet, but this time it was so bad I just can't hold it in anymore. The guy even walked all the way to the front to tell me to take my coupons and go, Seriously if the store manager didn't show up in time I think I would have been in a fight already. Man, some people just cannot mind their own business. The thing here that made me felt so bad is the poor cashier broke down and cried. The store manager had to escort her to the back room. I just left without buying half of the stuff and the store manager apologized to me for I don't know what. It should be that couple who should be apologizing. So the issue here was the cashier wasn't sure how to process the FPC and waited for a long time for the CSM, but there was only one CSM at the time and she was covering at the CS desk. So basically, the cashier wasn't getting any help. Few cashiers came by and was telling her different things and got her very confused. To a point that I just told her to skip the FPC, but there was something in the system that needed the CSM to override before she can do anything else. SIGH!!!:bawling::bawling::bawling: BTW, there was another lane open on the other side. In total, there was two big lanes and all express lanes available.

Don't feel badly - you tried to make it better. It's up to the stores to be training the employees properly.

I almost left in tears, as the cashier is not just any other cashier, she was my friend back in high school. No words can describe how bad I feel right now.

Some people are just mean. There's nothing you can do about it. Don't even bother fighting with them. Their battle isn't with you, it's with themselves. They could have moved to a different lane but they chose to stay and be nasty.

Sorry you and the cashier had to endure their anger/meanness. Try not to let it get you down!

I'm really feeling for the cashier and I can imagine how you must feel now as she was your friend.
So sad, big hugs all around. In the end you did try your best and you deserved more than an apology.
They need to train their employees.

Rude people like the couple behind you, caused the stress to the cashier, not you. Had that couple been respectful, the cashier would have kept her composure, after a short delay, things would have been smoother. We all want a quick and seamless transaction when pming and using coupons, sometimes we run into a computer glitch or unsure cashier, it happens. As couponers we feel bad, but at the end of the day, we are using our money....when the guy said take your coupons and go, you should have suggested you will if he offers to pay the bill. Keep your head up, you are not responsible for what happened.

That is really appalling. No one, and I mean NO ONE, has the right to treat a fellow Human Being like that, coupons or no coupons. PERIOD.

The cashier was trying to figure things out while waiting on the CSM to arrive. The guy at the back just cannot stop agitating me. I told the cashier to relax and don't listen to that guy, but it was hard for her to stand the pressure which is understandable. The CSM has a line up going on at the CS desk, so we waited for a bit of time before she came for help. By that time I was fired up with anger from that guy and the cashier is in tears. :shock:

Sorry about your bad experience couponing. I use to always apologize when I had a bunch of coupons, but one time a Walmart cashier told me not to apologize, that everyone is allowed their time to buy their items, however long that takes.

Everyone has been in line behind someone buying a piece of clothing without a tag, or who thought the price on an item should be different. Should that person be made to feel bad because it took extra time to get the price? No, of course not, and neither should you. That guy should not go to stores if he cannot handle waiting in line to check out.

One thing I do if I have a lot of coupons is hold them in my hand and kind of wave them so anyone getting in line behind me can see I have coupons. If I know it is going to take a bit of time for me to get through, I usually laughlingly warn the person behind me so they have the chance to get into another line if they choose. Even so, I`m sure again someday I`ll have another experience like the one you had, but will remember what that cashier told me, and that some people just have no consideration or patience for others. That is their problem not yours ;)

Happens to most couponers at least once, not much you can do.

I was lucky when I had someone like that behind me, the woman said there should be a special line for cheap welfare people to go use their coupons and not subject the rest of the shoppers to us. The cashier turns around and tells her there should be a special line for rude people too so no one has to deal with them, oh wait there is, go use self checkout which has no one at it

Walmart seems to be the worst for it, they just attract the worst shoppers (couponers and non-couponers alike)

It's funny though because after a while you just become desensitized to it. If that happened years ago I may have been rattled by it. Now...I would not hesitate to make someone regret that they opened their mouth. :)

So today I was back to that Walmart and had a conversation with the CSM that I know, he wasn't there that day, but the news got spread quickly around the entire store shortly after. Apparently, the store managers showed up at end was due to a staff who decided to call "code yellow" to the back office. An emergency code for incidences such as serious arguments or fighting within the store. He worked there for years now and have only had it happened once where the cashier sworn at the customer. He told me one of the mangers end up giving that guy a gift card?! I m like WTF! :eek: I m guessing he must have been all over the customer service desk complaining after I left and they give him a gift card so he would leave. sigh. While I was talking to the CSM, one of the cashier who saw what happened that day, said he went up to that guy and said "You cannot speak to a lady like that ever!", that guy response "Who are to tell me what to do!". He agree that guy was very rude indeed.

wow so sorry about that incident(the poor cashier and yes stores do not give enough training but that is life in retail unfortunately) -the guy that complained got a gift card -well the ones that scream the loudest and get the managers attention sometimes get something in life -not always thou
-I have been couponing 30 some odd years and I always tell the person behind me I have coupons or I am price matching
-and yes cashiers at walmart have said to me its your money who cares about the people in line -a supervisor even told me don't come out on a long weekend if you don't expect to wait a bit longer that is just life
