Friend of a friend story-time..

I've heard a lot over the past few years about how lax Sharm el-Sheikh airport security is..Especially in comparision to western standards.

Darth Penguin, I saw a piece the other day, shortly after the crash, about the conditions at that airport that supports your post.

It was pointed out that the staff are poorly trained and poorly paid, so complacency is evident among the staff. Also, and I'm trying to recall exactly what was said, but regarding the equipment such as the scanner, everything is either out of date or consistently breaking down, so 100% security screening isn't always reliable.
