DIY Chai Tea (Latte recipe incl.)

A quick fix powder to make chai latte right at home with hot milk. Makes a great Christmas Gift for teacher!

Ingredients

• 2 cups instant tea powder
• 1 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 2 teaspoons ground ginger
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

• Mix all of the ingredients and store sealed.
• Mix powder into hot milk to taste. (~1-2 T per mug, depending on size)

Notes

• Make sure you store in clean *dry* containers, as any moisture will cause the instant tea to become tea.

It's popular in Chinese grocery stores - they sell it with the milk and sugar already mixed in or plain.

The chai blend I drink is cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, cardamom, cloves, star anise.
