Thread: Snap Taking Money Back

I waited all year to cash in my Snap cheque. I requested a $200 cheq a couple days ago & today I got an email saying my cheq for $175 was on it's way. They listed 3 items from months ago that all of a sudden they have a problem with. The vague explanation was that the item wasn't on my receipt. When I submitted my receipts months ago they were approved with no problem. I find it a little fishy that when I request my cheque that now they're taking $25 off with no real explanation as to why. I think this is fraud & would like to know where I would report Snap for this.

Wow, Thats it awful. I think I heard couple of peoples having same issue with Snap as well.

I never believed it either until it happened to me! Thankfully I was not getting a huge cheque from them AND I still had all my receipts, so I re-scanned the specific ones they were questioning. I was almost out of the woods but then they said I bought the wrong TP and wanted the bar code from the packaging?? That packaging I no longer had and I told them so, eventually they issued the full amount to me and mailed the cheque.

I know they don't accept dollarama receipts because the items aren't detailed enough. Also does anyone know if there are penalties to things like claiming the wrong item, scanning the wrong receipt or scanning the receipts incorrectly? I thought I read somewhere that they take like a dollar(s) off. It could be some other app. I'll look into it.

Wow! I'm sorry this happened to you, but I'm glad you posted. Knowing this, I will make sure I save any and all receipts submitted to snap in case of this (I usually throw them out once they've been approved). This thread may have helped some people in the future. Shame on snap for trying to scam people!

Yuck! Why bother approving the cash-back when you are not going to give full-valued cheque?

I've been waiting for a cheque for 4-5 months now. Who do I contact?

I had the same problem - with the difference that they did not offer an explanation. But when the cheque arrived it was $20.00 less as they had confirmed in a previous email - I don't bother anymore with snap
