I am looking for a nice blender for smoothies for my 8 year son who doesn't eat vegetables as is or even cooked, he doesn't like chewing them. My budget is upto $200.Heard about vitamix and blendtec but they are out of my range and even I cannot get used one for that range. So I am looking for ninja, salton, majic bullet so need suggestions for buying. I need to add carrots, spinach, kale, apples into blender to have him atleast two servings of veggies into daily diet. Thanks in advance.

Have you considered juicing? A blender might make for a thick and odd textured drink that an 8 yo might be fussy about. Juicing while less nutritious might get better received. Carrot and apple mask the flavour of spinach kale cucumber & lettuce quite well. I got a cheap Hamilton Beach on sale at canadian tire and it works well easy to clean. I stopped using my blender - texture kinda put me off so I switched to juicing.

Buy from somewhere with a really good return policy. I have heard good things about the Nutri Ninja and the Nutribullet. I have also heard good things about the Breville Hemisphere blenders, which might be in your price range on sale.
Also, have you tried sneaking them in elsewhere? Will he eat potatoes? You can make mashed potatoes and add mashed cauliflower. Also consider steaming and pureeing veggies until they're the consistency of baby food and adding them to meat sauce for pasta, or in chili. You could also use the puree in muffins or cupcakes, anything with another flavor on top of it.
Have you heard of Jackfruit? You can probably find it at Asian markets near you. There are videos on youtube where they make it into pulled 'pork' that fools meat eaters into thinking they're eating real pork. Might be worth a try if he likes pork!

OMG.....that is genius! I would never have thought of pureed veggies in pasta sauce....Is it bad that I'm now thinking of using this pureed veggie trick for my hubby ?! He is so not a fan of veggies at all

I have a Nutribullet that I love (paid $30 for it at Target last year). It doesn't take too much space and it's easy to clean. It is powerfull enough to make nice smoothies. I never tried to do something else with it. Don't get a Magic Bullet, it's too weak.
Kale is really good in smoothies. My son likes the green smoothies with Kale or spinach and he is a picky eater. I usually do Kale-orange-banana.

Can nutribullet smooth up kale without chunks being shown up? I saw a recipe for pesto using kale+ basil+olive oil+ garlic+ lemon juice+ salt.If I can smooth up kale then nutribullet works for this.TIA

It depends what you mean by chunks... I can still see pieces of Kale, but it's tiny, like 1mm. We can easily drink the smoothie with a thin straw.
I never tried to do pesto in it.
