If a package of pork shoulder has a best before date of Sept 25 when would you expect to see a mark down price to appear?

This is a good question. What I usually do is, if I see that the expiry date is coming up, I ask the meat department if they can mark it down. If they say that they can't do it yet, I ask when I should come back. Usually the meat department manager "asks how many packs do you want marked down?"
