I don't know why but this year I really feel my depression is worse. Chanukah Is fast approaching and I see my friends making plans to celebrate and I just am in a funk because I'm unable to find a job at all....I feel so worthless

@gryphon *hugs*. I'm in a total funk this year too, nothing seems to go right. I'm trying so hard to get in the holiday spirit but I just... can't Just know that you're not alone in feeling that way.

It's ok to be in a bit of a funk, sometimes it is a necessary evil for sorting through feelings and forces us to examine things in a different light.
I hope you find some renewal and inner strength through your journey.

You are definitely not alone @gryphon , I also suffer from major depressive disorder and I'm sure you can relate some days are better than other while others are worse. The vicious circle at times seems to be cruel and the added stress of expenses, organizing/planning for the holidays on top of our everyday chores/worries certainly can lighten the mood.
Christmas and the holiday season affects many even those who are not officially diagnosed with depression as well so I hope you find comfort in knowing you are definitely not alone my dear.
I can certainly understand your funk, I've been in 1 for several months now and the time change only added to it....sigh....
Hugs to you and here's hoping that you get a few good days to allow you to remember that not all days are bad.2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Depression is totally normal around the holidays and many people suffer from seasonal depression. On days you are feeling down try to count your blessings no matter how small. That is what I do, or try to do. I hope the days become brighter for you.

This is a song my Dad used to sing to me when I was a kid and felt sad...I realized I had more to be thankful for than I had to be sad for...
