December 2015 Frugal Chatter thread - all welcome!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone,

Two Christmas down which means it is now time to relax, yippee.

Last night was at Dad's house which is our big Christmas, there were 15 of us including my cousin's 1 year old. She is such a cutie, she spent a good 5 minutes trying to pull my nail off. Sadly she was sick and congested but did not slow her down. One great part of my new job is I will be in our branches more including my cousin branch so I will get to spend more time with his little girl.

I was super worried going into last night since I found out I was the only one not bringing a date and my family usually bugs me about being single. Nothing was said probably because most of the night I had my cousins little girl and barely sat down. Got to meet sis bf and bro gf, bro gf fits right in, sis bf didn't say much or interact very much with us. Lately I have had a number of conversations on first impressions and how important they are, hoping he was just shy because he met the whole family.

Next year I am going to make less desserts, everyone loved them but WAY too many left overs.

Today was much quiter, just me, mom and bro.

Off to try to find homes for my new stuff, have a great day everyone.

Super happy to be online today and get into some daily contests too. Did some housekeeping at home earlier while Mom is preparing for tomorrow's dinner. Not sure if she has got around to getting the last food item she'll need-I had the grocery flyers out so she can check the offers.

We had a quiet, but lovely, day - and a wonderful evening with our son over again.

Crazy frigid morning at -35 windchill and it will be the same tonight. Though the temp warmed up to high minus teens today, the windchill stayed pretty much the same. Ick.

DD was up at 4.30am this morning:yikes:
(Somewhat) Enjoyed visits with family today - luckily for my cold I got to duck out early (Didn`t want to get my grandmother ill as she's had extreme health issues over the past little while)
No family politics came up, which is always nice. DD got spoiled from everybody, came home and luckily she fell asleep at 7. Not sure why I`m still up..

I want to do some shopping tomorrow , will see what happens...

Ours was good..a little peeved because his ex cant keep her big mouth shut and told them what Santa got them here. That's the last time i bother to TRY to be cooperative with her in regards to gifts.

Christmas eve ended up being stressful as my ex boss apparently thinks the notice i gave him saying i could ve done in 2 weeks on October 30 or let him know when my start date was as soon as i found out a week prior and giving him a chance to hire my replacement was not good enough as wellas 5 weeks of extra help and training during my off time. Enough is enough i do not owe him anything its not my fault people aren't doing their jobs now because if they didnt before he just made me do it for them. AND he has no right to express a downright rude opinion about my boyfriend and his injuries if late.

Bfs mom came for Christmas. Its been fantastic. His brother, wife and their kids came for Christmas dinner.

I sold a scarfe late on xmas eve which is a nice extra for me.

We are making turkey soup for lunch tomorrow.

Wonderful gifts given and received as well as a 4.5 day weekend to enjoy family.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Good luck to everyone out shopping today.

Today has been very unproductive but I am good with it. I think I am fighting off a cold, more then half the guests at my Dad were sick including my cousins little girl who keep chewing on her fingers and whipping in on me and at one point trying to chew one of my nails off so pretty sure I picked up a few of her germs. So I stayed in bed until 10 am :shock: and have now done nothing.

I need to sort through my gifts and find them homes, it was nice a surprise our family actually gave gifts this year, normally we are a gift card and money family. I got some really nice stuff but now I need to find a home for it all. I was hoping to tackle my room this week but no one is around to help me build my bed and I do not think I can build a queen size bed alone. I once tried to rotate my queen mattress alone and that didn't go well so do not see building the bed going any better. We will see what happens but today is my me day and I am doing nothing.

His co-worker was quite upset and disappointed. She doesn't want her daughter to be pregnant, particularly since she has not finished high school yet.

Sounds like everyone had a wonderful Christmas,

I must admit this was the 1st Christmas in ages where I was very relaxed, got to enjoy the visit with my folks and inlaws.

Wishing everyone a great evening.

We still have a week left of shut down but I am starting to feel a little stressed. I just found out we have 3 new employees all starting on the same day and will all need training, only issue being they are in 3 different locations. As well we still have our location that has some issues I was hoping to start addressing in the new year so in reality we really have 4 locations that all need my attention.

I think starting Monday I will set away some time each day to try to get myself organized for the first few weeks back. I am all up for a challenge but this just might turn into chaos.
