I've done this for the past couple years were I look at how much I spent at Value Village in the previous year then purchase gift certificates for the coming year. Roughly, my household tends to spend about $300/year (almost always on the half off days).
I got $280 in gift certificates which entitled me to 14 free $5 coupons that are redeemable between Dec 26, 2015 and Jan 31, 2016.
That's $70 for free.
More Info
- The $5 coupon says limit 1 per purchase, so I will have to do 14 separate transactions.
- The $5 coupon is not valid on sale days of with other coupons, savings passes or promos. You don't get money back if you don't use the full value. (e.g. spend <$5)

Oh my goodness! Didn't know about this! I've spent hundreds of dollars there in the last six months on books for school, my son's school library, and toys and books for my kids. Definitely worth buying $200 in gift cards to use in the new year -- The $5 coupons would get me at least 50 free children's books
Thanks for posting!
