Good Morning, folks!
Beautiful Sunshine streaming through the window here.
Last night I cheated on my diet and had a BOGO Blizzard from DQ that I had received a coupon for because of my birthday. Woke up with a splitting migraine! So I took my meds and have learned my lesson (again!)
Lilo, the meds I take are the only thing that work after years of struggling trying to deal with migraines. I get them in the States, but basically they are the equivalent of one extra strength aspirin, one extra strength acetaminophen and the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee or a cola. They work really well if I take them right away.
How is your hubby doing?
Ashley, take care with your light-headedness that you don't fall!
Well, we have a lady coming to pick up a hanging lamp that I advertised on Kijiji so I had better get moving! I wonder if she's in the market for a house?
Have a good day!

Avon: Can you share the name of the med. I will pick some up just in case. I am not convinced it was a migraine, it just seemed like the easy answer for the doctors. I grew up watching my mom suffer and my 15 yr old has suffered from migraines since he was 6 so I feel pretty sure I know a migraine. I have only had them twice in my like and both were postpartum with each boy. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. Not to mention DH has never had a migraine (rarely even has a headache). I am working at home today as I am not ready to leave him alone. He seems to be improving. Just picked up his iPhone for the 1st time is 5 days as he needed to cancel some meetings for work. he is also able to eat yogurt toast and bananas. I just told him we were not ignoring this and he needs to go to the doctor for a full physical as we don't know what they tested for at the hospital and you guys all have some great ideas of what else to look for.

Finished the two piece project on Saturday-well, I was not wrong in thinking that a 2 inch increase at centre front was going to be an issue-it added four inches to the front and four inches to the back (neckline is almost like a boat neckline as a result to mid-shoulders). I did not think to add width to the sleeve piece but I did add length. So I have perfect length stovepipe sleeves and a jumper-like top/dress combo. Slept in the garment last night and it was cosy. The instructions weren't kidding about the facing-I did not add extra length to the first facing (and wondered why I was having trouble getting enough of it) so had to cut out a second longer one and redid the other facing too.
Would love to make an Epiphany cake for tomorrow but now there's a new fast period that Mom is observing so that means an eggless/dairyless cake. No dried apricots on hand to make the egg substitute puree. Have hazelnuts but not sliced almonds. Have to think of something else (there's a beer in the fridge-beer oilcake would not be as festive but there are no eggs or butter in that recipe).
Several SC members have provided @lilo0003 with some medical leads to rule out in pinpointing what caused her DH's health to change so recently. A health scare is when alert family members can put the puzzle pieces together to solve the matter.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Good day everyone! It's a cold one today but the buses were not canceled even though my oldest said they would be lol. Maybe tomorrow if he I lucky. No money spent out today (brought my breakfast, lunch and snacks to work. Had free coffee at work this morning and will have tea this afternoon) Going out at lunch to get freshair and make a return from Christmas $22.60 on my Credit card (I was able to buy same item for $4.99 vs the $19.99 I paid ) My wonderful guy is making pork loin for dinner with not sure what but will leave it to him, he always makes a nice dinner Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Lilo!
It's actually Excedrin Migraine. Also sometimes just called Excedrin Extra Strength. You just have to check the ingredients. I sometimes use the regular strength. But any pharmacy should have it.
The Tylenol Migraine here doesn't include all 3 ingredients. You have to be careful of your stomach, of course, with the aspirin, but I only ever need the one dose and in 1/2 hour, the headache is gone. I even saw a migraine specialist who told me he couldn't give me equivalent pain management.
I would DEFINITELY have your DH get a second evaluation. But, I know how reticent my DH can be about seeking medical help.
Good luck! I will be thinking about you!

I think he is on the road to recovery. He was able to watch Downton Abbey at lunch (priorities) and sit upright and has taken no meds so far today. I have already told him seeing the family dr is not an option.
thanks for all the ideas. I have made a list of what they need to look for. 1st thing is a full set of blood work.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Hello folks! After talking with 4 different people at Healer Packard and 2 People at Samsung and spending about 2 hours on the phone, I was able to get my Tablet connected to our wireless printer. The laptop is still pooches but I managed to get my Wedding Ceremonies saved onto an external drive. Next I will try to retrieve all of our photos. This is quite a long journey!
Sassy, I wanted to say that those mermaid cozies are beautiful! I realize these were not the ones you actually crocheted but it's no wonder you had so many orders!
I am having a nice cup of tea.
Will check in later.Last edited by avoncallingu; Mon, Jan 18th, 2016 at 05:02 PM.

Afternoon, everyone.
bff's Dad passed away just after midnight. bff, her Mom & siblings and all but one of her nieces and nephews (he was away at a funeral for a friend of his ) were there at the end. They are all being very supportive to each other, especially the kids. I'm going home to my Mom (she lives near bff's Mom), so I can be close by if needed. Not sure when exactly I'm leaving (tomorrow or Wed) or coming home, so will be awol for a bit.
Today is my 13th anniversary of receiving a kidney & a pancreas, but I'm not much in the mood to celebrate. Maybe once I see bff & I know she's ok, my mood will lighten.
Thanks, everyone, for listening. It's nice to know there are so many nice folks out there who care.

@Andit so sorry for your bff's passing, so sad.
@lilo0003 glad to hear your dh is feeling a little better
Supper tonight was homemade pogos as they were a hit last week. I have another pack of wieners in the fridge which I will do into pogos tomorrow morning and freeze for later use (a quick meal in a pinch) for the nights were the kids don't like what I've made or a fall back on those lazy days.
Going to make my meal plan tomorrow morning, my folks may visit tomorrow if they are up to it and possibly bring me to return the Christmas tree I purchased last week as the lights are defective. I called the store this am and they have set aside another tree to swap.
Which everyone a great evening.
Inquiring Minds Want to Know????
What is your go to meal in a pinch? ie forgot to take something out the night before...or just feeling lazy.
2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

That's a loaded question, j&c! If I've forgotten to thaw meat, that's a stinker because husband is a meat-eater and barely handles the one day a week we do meatless.
In a pinch - eggs, for sure - scrambled with onions or over-easy and maybe fried potatoes; pasta and canned sauce; or tuna and pasta with homemade garlic and/or mushroom sauce.
Lazy is a whole different thing - for that, I usually try to keep something frozen - like M&M chicken wings, or their oriental party pak. For the former, then I just need to make some sort of taters and veg; for the latter, some noodles.

Hi Andi! I'm so sorry for your friend's loss! I am sure that your being close by will be very helpful for her.
Congratulations on your anniversary! I know it's hard to celebrate now, but take some time soon. Your milestones are really worthy of note!
Thoughts and prayers your way.

Getting reimbursed this week for my travel last month (yay get my money back)
Paid the water (30 dollars more than usual for some reason) snd the propane bill.
We had wings tonight. I lucked out last week and got some on sale so bought enough for us and the boys and the enough for just yhe two of uswhen boys are with their mom.
I called my mom (smartly with my cell-free minutes) and chatted for an hour.
