Spent only $12 including tax and got 18380 points(SDM)

My best shop today at sdm
Redeem $170 used $32 in coupons..
Bought 4 enfamil A+ 2
Bought 2 Enfagrow A+3
2 Bags of milk 2%
2 cream milk 2%
1 lubriderm lotion
There were 6 $5 coupons for formula...
4 coupons were printable for enfamil A+2 and 2 coupons I got in the mail for Enfagrow.
And I used $2 coupon for lubriderm lotion printed from healthyessentials.ca
Lubriderm lotion $4.99-2=$3
And I loaded one coupon which was 10x points on milk...

My total at sdm was $22.57,claimed $10 from snap saves for 2 cans of Enfagrow
So finally 22-10=$12
And got $25 worth of points

I have a question as I'm still learning the sdm yays and nays, I thought if you redeemed points you couldn't earn points or you could only earn points on the difference between amount redeemed and amount out of pocket, can someone please clarify this for me.

Momi received the points because after redemption her balance was still above $50.00. ($53.87)She used coupons to bring the balance below $50 but the points are still awarded on the pre-coupon amount. Coupons count as cash 99% of the time. I have heard of people not getting points when using coupons so I guess it's hit or miss. I've always received points when using coupons.

She did not receive points on the $170 she redeemed for.

Also, if there was in store bonus points such as 1000 BP if you buy formula, she would receive 1000 points for every box she bought even when redeeming.

If the product had a 10x the points offer attached to it then she would not receive 10X for redeeming because if she spent $170 and redeemed $170 the balance would be 0 and 0 x 10 is zero therefore no points awarded.

Hope this makes sense.
