Hudsons Bay: trade in unwanted gift cards from other stores

Hudsons Bay has a promo with cardswap to trade in your unwanted gift cards in exchange for Bay cards.

The Bay seems to offer slightly more than the regular cash rates.

E.g. I put up an unwanted $200 ish gift card and received an offer of $150ish in Bay Cards.

Tried it out on Cardswap's regular website to get cash, and it offered me $136.

I decided to do this cuz i have a card with money left over and never go to a certain store. I got 80% of the card value into a Bay GC, which was more than what card swap itself was offering me. It was really easy, and you don't have to pay for the stamp/shipping which was really surprising. As soon as you say ok, you enter your info in (or log in if you already have a card swap account), include a credit card # just so they can deter scammers, and then you print out a prepaid label to stick on an envelope, in addition to another label to insert with your gift card! Easy! i should be getting my new HBC/Bay GC by email (which they say is usable in store and online)! The Bay has everything so i'm happy! Easier than doing posting on kijiji and waiting for nibbles... Just have to decide that it's ok to take a little hit for the convenience of at least getting a card you will use.
