At my local pool, I currently pay the adult rate of $3.80 per swim and I thought that was expensive!!! The senior rate is $1.10. No way would I pay $10 per swim.

I agree! How sad that some Provinces can get away with gouging people like that. At your local pool @salady is there a better rate on a membership that you could get? I was thrilled to pay $37.50 for a 3 month ( senior rate ) membership finally. Just wish I had known about it on the first day I went.

Yes, the prices I mentioned are if you buy the 10 pack. I go irregularly so a monthly pass wouldn't suit me. The senior monthly pass is only $9.60 and it's cheaper of course if you buy the yearly pass. 3 months pass is $24. Pretty good deals....the pool is great and always empty during off-peak hours. I can't tell you how nice it feels to have my own personal swimming pool and personal lifeguards!

can ya believe what a stupid stupid thing I did the other day??
Guess I was feeling " all powerful " now after using my recumbent bike for a few days, so I wanted to up the ante and try some arm exercises on DH's weight machine ( BUT using NO weights of course you know? ) Just the motion/reps with whatever the amount is with the pin removed.
I removed both pins as I thought I new exactly how this thing operated. GRRRR! could not do that one where you bring your elbows together, so I stood back up and tried to push the one side of it. IT did NOT budge but I think my back cried?
Yup! I did something to my back!
Of course I did not know it then because no real pain or anything at that moment. The next afternoon however I was stiffening up and I KNEW it!! If I could kick myself I would!! Forced myself to swim in the a.m. on Monday and felt really good until I climbed out of the pool.
It seems to be a minor backache compared to that nasty pinched thing in Jan. with sciatica, so I was put back on doing the same series of stretches 3 x a day that the Chiro first gave me.....
Did not swim this a.m. though, feel so rotten. Plus it has been 2 crapola rain days here.
What a pity party I am having! Wanna join me?

Totally a coincidence! U of T tweeted about the pool centre being in a CBC show about Design Disruption and I went to the pool's account and saw a mention about Rob Ford's involvement with centre building and spotted the closure tweet.
Splendid membership move on the centre's side to ensure your pool fun continues, @walkonby !2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
