Living in the country can have its ups and downs. My daughter lives in the boonies but sometimes its a good thing. She called me yesterday afternoon and told me a local farmer that they know delivered 15 lbs of broccoli, 50 lbs of carrots and 2 50 lb bags of potatoes, 20 lbs of zucchini (different kinds and sizes) and a large bushel full of ripening bananas! I can understand all the vegies but bananas? Where did he get the bananas? Anyway, we went over and got a pile of everything.

Yes as someone else mentioned it is likely he is a distributor of CSA boxes who import produce that is not normally grown in our region no matter what season because people want specific things such as bananas or pineapples in addition to what the farmer supplies them with.

I forgot to mention that my daughter also gave us approximately 20 lbs of Italian tomatoes which we peeled and chopped and froze in containers for spagh sauce and soups.
