I'm Wondering:confused: Would I believe Its Not Butter. Its On sale, and while its not expensive I wouldn't want to buy it and not be able to eat it
Is it like a knock off of I can't Believe its Not Butter?
No That's What I'm Talking about !
I bought it once years ago.It was creamy enough. The taste was okay but really won't mistake it for butter.
"I can't Believe its Not Butter" is a cheaper margarine made with loads of saturated fats (1/3, palm oil and palm kernel oil) so it is cheaper and less healthy than many of the other options out there. Personally I will not buy it. The taste is poor IMO. Tropical grease plus soybean oil, which has a heavy taste.
I have been able to find Lactantia Healthy Attitude, Becel, Celeb (PC product) at around $1.50/lb (450g, smaller tub) and these are all much healthier with far less saturated fat, better tasting, canola-base, and really not that expensive.
I like it
I love the spray version on my popcorn.
If you are a margarine eater normally, I can't say. However if you are a butter eater, you probably won't like it.
Health wise, butter is better, but not sure if that is what you were wondering about.
I have been using it for a few years - I have a milk allergy and usually I buy the becel vegan and I can't Believe its Not Butter
Current research on fats, including sat. fats, is showing that assumption in the past were unfounded.
There is a lot of interesting data out there these days :)
Strictly speaking from a taste perspective, butter wins for me personally, but i rarely eat it anyways

I only tried it once but was not a fan. Plus I decided to stay away from margarines all together. So much horrible stuff in it. I'm now trying Earth Balance spread (the soy free/dairy free one). I know it has some palm oil in it but I guess it's better than margarine. It tastes great though. Only thing I don't like is the price.
I call it "I CAN Believe it's Not Butter"
It's ok in a pinch when it's on sale for $1.00 but I prefer the real stuff
None of that "I Can't Believe" business for me. I CAN believe it's butter since that's all I buy. :)
Its not deplorable, but certainly you will believe its not butter! Kind of tastes a lot like country crock spread to me.
Agree!
BUTTER DOES NOT CONTRIBUTE TO HEART DUSEASE, NOR DOES IT CAUSE CHOLESTEROL TO FORM IN THE BLOODSTREAM. SUGAR DOES.
Eat butter, the real thing, not artificial crap. IMHO...too much nonsense has been fed to us regarding the dangers of healthy fat such as butter...it's all false.
Just google the health benefits of butter, the frankenfats that we're told are better for us...it's only better for the wallets of big business. And they eat butter!

It's an OK margarine, I'd always know it's not butter.
If you're buying it for spreadability, I suggest Gay Lea. It's butter whipped with canola oil. Taste a lot better.
My mom only eats margarine, thinking she wouldn't gain weight. (Chinese believe that White people are fat because they cook with butter.) When I told her Angela from "Angela's Ashes" became obese before she died because she eats loads of white bread and butter. It was her way to cope with the deprivation in her youth. My mom said, "Told you so! Butter makes you fat!"
But my mom is chubby too. So there. Live a little, get real butter.
"Part of the secret of a success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside." -- Mark Twain
Rather just stick with natural organic butter :p
I went back to butter.
its okay. I wouldn't cook with it ... just to butter bread. I've also gone back to butter.
