Attack on Canadian Armed Forces members possible terrorism: police

Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders says a knife attack on two Canadian Armed Forces members on Monday in North York is being probed as a possible terror attack.
A 27-year-old man is in custody and the two victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said they received a 911 call about a man waving a knife in the Yonge Street and Greenfield Avenue.
Saunders said the man walked into the Joseph Shepard Building located at 4900 Yonge St around 3:30 p.m. Monday, pulled out a knife and attacked a uniformed Canadian Forces member.
When they arrived, the man was being held down by other members of the Armed Forces.


Saunders said the suspect made comments “which caused concern” during the unprovoked attack, and police are not ruling out terror at this time.
Toronto police are working with the RCMP, OPP, and CSIS to establish a motive.


Saunders says charges against the 27-year-old are pending.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.

The scary thing for me.....this is 10 minutes from my house. I go to that building several times a year to fill out forms. Im freaked out now
