Moving advice
Looking for advice on what to do with my stockpile. We are looking to move this summer and not sure the best option. I have stopped adding to it and reduced my pile in January and February. I have a couple options:
- give to family
- store it with family
- donate
what have you done in the past?
thanks :)

why can you not move most or some of the items with you?

I think it depends on what you have stock piled

I'm thinking about staging the house. It was a bedroom before now an office/pantry in the basement. It will look nicer if I reduce the items (all non perishable food)

Give it to family or donate. With moving you will have enough to deal with.

I was in your foot, we moved from Winnipeg to Calgary last June. I give out most of my stock pile to friends and family. I donated other stuffs too. I thought it wouldn't fit in uhaul but I was wrong I should brought everything with me:-). I have to admit its hard to move ia couponer like us due to the stock pile.
We temporarily sheltered to a relatives house for 9 months but my couponing addiction never stopped. I built a pile of laundry stuff, toiletries, dishwashing soap, chocolates, cereals, cleaning stuffs, diapers and wipes for my 1 year old. Luckily, the place that we found is just 4 minutes drive from our relatives house. We brought most of our stock pile as our relatives used different brands, and we have room for them to keep. The recent pile that I had is the bacon pile. I had 30 of them..

We packed up a good chunk of our stock pile into labeled boxes and put it in the garage when we listed the house.
People don't care if your garage is packed full of boxes. They understand that people still live there, so their stuff has to go somewhere. :-)
Items we had too much of and were too heavy to move large quantities of went to friends and family.

I did all of the above. I kept some, gave some away to friends and family and donated a TON (about $6500 worth).
Looking back I really wish I hadn't given so much away to family and friends and donation just because now I don't coupon much anymore and it makes me cringe to think of all the things I got for free and gave away for free that I am now having to buy with real money. Sigh.
