97 cents for Girl's Jean Jacket at Old Navy--You never know until you scan it. (YMMV)

My daughter has been wanted to have a Jean Jacket for a long time. So I went to Old Navy just to see how much I was looking at. I found one with no tag on it as others are kind of different designs and brought it to the cashier to check the price for it. Then, the cashier asked me, "Where did I find this? Clearance section?". So I said, "No, I found it with other Jean jackets with different designs." Then, she claimed it is 97 cents! I had an Old Navy's tote bag, which gives you 10% off, so I asked her if I could use it on top of that. She said why not. But it didn't go through. I guess ending 97 wouldn't go any further discount, but I would be happy to take it for that price. So I got it.
As I wanted to see how it fits on my daughter, I showed it to her and she saw a tag written 'BOY" out of "Boyfriend" brand. So she said that she wouldn't wear it as this is for boys. (She knew how much that I paid it for.) So me and my husband had to explain to her "Boyfriend" brand is for actually girls:-) Then, she is fine.

thats one thing i hate about old navy is that they have no price tag for a lot of stuff and there is no price check machine. the lineup is always long, so its a hassle to let the cashier to check the price. if only they could install a price check machine in the store

I didn't know that about old Navy tote bag...I have one...so if I use it automatic 10% off?

Yes, but I believe it is good until the end of 2016. Although it might not work on the item price ending 97 like my case. When I bought mine, I even got 10 % off for the price of the tote bag:-)

Nice story and great find! I love random Old Navy clearance. Some of my best include a 1.97 dress, .97 skirt and .47 tank top.

I never shop at old navy for some reason. I really should. That's a great deal! Do they carry baby stuff too?

I really wish they would do that too. Oldnavy tends to be very messy, plus the line ups are long. It would be so much easier to shop there if they had a price scanner around. But they do have crazy deals, I got my DD some T shirts for 33 cents!

Good find and great job explaining to your daughter. Sometimes getting your kids to see it your way is the bigger battle.
