Oshawa warehouse has a huge stack of Kirkland Signature walnuts, 7 ft high and 4 ft wide.
I asked a Costco guy why the price drop to $14.49/1.36 kg. He said that Costco purchases months in advance and their stock is high for about 20 products right now, so the prices reflect this overstock.
Other provinces are reporting the same deal. Big YMMV, though.
Update May 8: Kirkland Signature extra large peanuts tub. 1.36 kg was $8.99, now $7.99 (2014 price)
Update: May 5, further reduction on walnuts. Now $9 off the original price. Oshawa's stock is now 5 feet high
In addition to walnuts
*frozen mixed veg, 2 kg, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots +++ , was $9.99, now $8.99.
*Caesar salad kit, huge container, by the rotisserie chicken was, $9.99, now $8.99
*bananas, 3 lb, was $1.99, now $1.59/3 lbs
*Polder toilet brush in a stainless steel container + 2 spare brush heads $19.99
Now 2 Polder toilet brushes in 2 stainless steel holders and 2 spare brush heads, $21.99
( I shamed them on Costco Facebook page, for cutting the quantity to one brush, and they have responded positively)
* organic lean ground beef 3 packs are $10 off this week
200 kitchen garbage bags $14.49
Post Cranberry Almond Crunch, 1.4 kg $9.49
Spice aisle:
organic ground cinnamon, lemon pepper (no MSG), saffron
Kikkomann soy sauce, $6.49/1.89 kgThis thread is currently associated with: CostcoLast edited by Shwa Girl; Mon, May 9th, 2016 at 07:51 AM. Reason: added more specials

Baklava bakers and walnut torte enthusiasts might take care of that stockpile!
That frozen veg mix sounds like the California mix-my sibling would have to be thinking to get that bag for us! Love that trio of colour and crunch from instant noodles to soups to casseroles and add-ins to cooked rice or pasta.Last edited by Ciel; Mon, May 9th, 2016 at 06:25 PM. Reason: not paste but pasta!

Also in Oshawa warehouse, lots of plants. In decorative containers. In hanging nbaskets, in pots. Herb assortment, ferns, bouganvilia, begonia, geranium, ...
A Costo lady told me they are getting ready for Mother's Day.
Shwa Girl prediction: early garden center discounts on outside plants due to
- the volume purchased,
- the higher than average inventory left each week, and
- the cooler April weather
-> some Costco warehouses may need to make the price lower, so people will buy

Funny, I had gone looking for walnuts last Wednesday at Costco. Couldn't find any, so I bought a bag of pecans, which is a smaller bag for about the same regular price as the walnuts.
Now im thinking maybe I just didn't notice them because they may have been at the end of an aisle if it was a huge pile of walnuts. Darn, should have kept looking!
