Love Moen's free cartridge replacement!
I think all the big companies do it (Moen, Price Pfister, Delta, etc.).

I checked out the Huggies rewards when I entered the codes on Shnday. The free packages of diapers was still available as a prize at that time. We'll just have to see what is up after they are done all of these changes on the websites.
It is astonishing to hear how poorly your little girl has been treated at some of these daycares. Our son still has a scar on his face by his eye from a little boy at his daycare. That little boy was only 6 months younger than him, but he didn't speak very much and would scratch and grab when he didn't get his way. The doctor commented about how deep that scratch was when we went to my prenatal appointment last June. Other than that boy we had a pretty good experience at that home daycare. We had issues with the other home daycare that we tried out before. Then funny thing is that the daycare we stayed with was better and cost $200/month less than the other one.
I don't miss the day care days, although we did get lucky and Logan BFF is a boy he met at three in day care, seriously they are inseparable
lit has cooled off a lot so we have all the windows open to cool the house before the heat comes back. I can't wait for the long weekend. It's only Tuesday and this seems like the longest week ever at work.
I am so sorry you have had issues with the daycares. I run a home childcare. all the things you mentioned would not have happened under my care. hugs.
so. gr 8 grad is done for my youngest child. big tears. we did it fairly well budget wise. I am that mom,...I gave her a budget , and said make choices. she did very, very well. instead of having someone do her makeup and nails , we did it at home... and she chose to have someone instead do her hair.its all about making choices. I am very proud of her.
and she won a award. :)

Finally we had rain yesterday night, great to cool down the humidity.Wishing everyone an awesome day,off to see what i do today!!! :)
Good morning, everyone. :)
Life is getting busy for us. My Mom starts chemo tomorrow, so the plan is for me to stay with my Mom at least part time (go down the night before, stay for 2 days, then back downtown, depending on how she feels). Still stressed, but feeling a bit more my usual optimistic sunny self these days, now that there is finally a plan in place. :)
My friends have been visiting and spoiling the brats, so they are mostly behaving, although Quincy cat has turned into a monster (he is becoming very vocal when he doesn't get to go patio hopping :P).
Better get going. Have a lot to do before we get going. Window washers are coming either later today or tomorrow, have banking that needs to be done, cookies that need to be packed. ;)
I'll try to keep in touch. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. :)
Just a brief post for the moment: A Bell door-to-door marketer came to the door yesterday. After DH answered it and returned to the dinner table, LO asked who it was. DH said it was someone trying to sell us a TV package and I mentioned without thinking much of it "Yes, he wants your money." LO got quite indignant. "He cannot have my money. It's MY money."
Ha ha! We'll see how long that lasts growing up. :-) I shall have to teach her about advertising soon.
LO also normally puts up a fight when I tell her we cannot take the bus as Mommy is trying to save money by walking. She really loves that bus! Yesterday, I had to go to my doctor's for a monthly checkup and told her that if the bus doesn't come soon, we'll have to walk. LO said "It's okay, Mommy. We can walk home." Awww.
Normally, we get two hours on our card, but it's hard to keep track of the minutes unless you have a watch or cellphone. Home is walkable and I didn't want to pay a double fee for one trip home. The bus arrived late. I tapped my card and it said something strange like 0T. As it turns out, I tapped it the exact minute our two hours was up. We did have to walk home at the transfer point, so it wasn't worth taking the bus at all, but I'm so relieved I didn't have to pay the double fare!
Ok, I feel somewhat bad after being paid for babysitting my neighbour's kids yesterday for a little over 9hrs. I charged her $5 less that my planned daily daycare rate for siblings. Dh says I should have refused payment. It was an e-payment, I still need to go threw the email link, etc. At the end of the day she told me to charge her whatever and she would pay me. She normally has ex's mom come into her home to care for her children for $20/day. The grandma begged her to let her babysit, but always leaves her house a big mess. I cared for the children at my house on short notice. This is the first time that either of us has care for the other's children for an entire day for work. We usually trade kids clothes and toys across the street. We have taken eachother's children while the mom attends a medical appointment, etc. for free. I'm thinking about giving her some of the cash back, but I also know that she would have had to pay someone else if I wasn't available. I just feel bad because she is a single mom of 4 and a friend. Opinions?
We are pretty seriously discussing trading in my truck and getting a 7 seater van or SUV. We know where we would like to buy the vehicle from, same place we got both of our current trucks from. My truck has no mechanical issues, but needs body work. It is a 2004 with 173,000km on it. I have a good amount of money set aside that can be used towards the purchase of this vehicle. We always buy a used vehicle and pay for the extra warantee. It will be expensive because we own all of our current vehicles outright. I don't like the idea of taking on this major expense, but it is either this or pay big $ for bodywork, etc that a dealership could do for a lot cheaper. I don't like spending money, even when I have a job and especially not when I am preparing to do they home daycare thing which will be less money in my pocket than EI currently is.
Happy hump day! Blue sky here today! Wonderful day for the last day of school and a pool party this evening :)
DS had a good last day of school lunch, cheeries, fresh pineapple, rice crackers and a jumbo hot dog lol. They are having a little party this afternoon and will fill up on treats that we all sent in too.
Last night I scored at Sportchek. They had a huge clearance section that was minimum 50% off and then take another 50% off.
So I decided to see if I could find some deals totaling $50 so I could use my Spend $50 save $10 coupon.
For $44.15 total I got:
2 Adidas sports bras for me (Reg. $44.99 Each)
Adidas zip up light jacket/pullover for DS (reg $59.99) For back to school
Under Armour T-shirt for DS (reg $24.99)
Adidas tank top for DS (reg $24.99)
Adidas T-Shirt for DS (reg $29.99)
Used $30 GC that I received for free and the rest on GC I bought for 20% off. So happy with my haul! And now I can toss old sports bras that need to go!!
Angela, I think if you cared for your neighbours kids on short notice for 9 hours you totally deserve whatever she paid you-as you say she would have had to pay somebody anyway. I assume you also fed them and this is about to become your business anyway. When I care for other children I do charge.
Received my final tax bill for the year. Glad to get it out of the way. And it went down a bit, yippee!! Still keeping my budgeted monthly amount the same (it was already higher). Will build a good little chunk of money for down the road.
