Hamilton Ward Boundary Review meetings
Second phase of public meetings have commenced on the boundary review.
Quote:
The review was prompted after the city received a petition signed by 618 people organized by Advocacy Hamilton that demanded the municipality address the discrepancy in ward representation. The last council decided to delay the review until the 2014 council was elected.
The city has budgeted $270,000 for the review.
Hamilton has 15 wards with two wards – 7 and 8 – that are 25 per cent above the acceptable 37,600 population level, while three wards – 10, 13, and 14 – are below that population line. Some councillors have suggested adding one extra ward on the mountain.
The remaining public meetings continue June 11 at Tim Hortons Field starting at 12:30 p.m. Other meetings will be held at Mountain Arena June 14; Ancaster Rotary Club June 16; Westdale Secondary School June 17; Waterdown Legion on June 22; Winona Community Centre June 23 all starting at 6 p.m. On June 25 Rosedale Arena will host a public meeting at 12:30 p.m. and the final meeting will be held June 29 at Binbrook Agricultural Hall, beginning at 6 p.m.

I plan to attend the Ancaster meeting. Federally, our riding got a name change so I'm keen to look at what naming changes are proposed for Ward 12.
