I also find the meat at rcss to be expensive and not that great. I like the meat at metro especially beef so will buy there when I see a decent sale. I have had some not great meat at no frills so don't generally buy it there.

Yes, you can... but it's rare (no pun intended).
It's usually when the date is due --- so today, for example, that exact package above will probably be tagged this afternoon with a pink sticker for quick sale.
If it doesn't sell today, then they can't sell it... and it will either get cooked into something in-store, or will be scrapped.

Like some people mentioned, I too pm flyers from no frills and food basic at Superstore, I find the meat better at superstore and they price match..you have to go to the butcher and have him/her change the price, but no big deal, a few months ago I think it was no frills they had the pork tenderloin on sale for $2.99 superstore was something like $7.99, they only price match 2, so I said make sure they are both the big family packs and he did it! Superstore has gotten pretty picking when pm'ing, so make sure the wording is exactly the same! I also try to buy the meat that is on sale that week, if prime rib is on sale that's what I get, if pork tenderloin is I get that.

Unfortunately, the Superstores in Nova Scotia don't price match. And Walmart won't on most meat prices because they use a specific brand.

Our RCSS has been selling next to rotten or just outright rotten meat at their regular over priced rates.
