By the time they go through the testing for Canadian standards, they may even be better trained than Canadian-born doctors!
I've had some absolutely wonderful immigrant doctors, no problems whatsoever - from varied countries such as South Africa, Pakistan, Ireland, England, etc.
Arvilish, they have to.
Yes I know this routine....I see my cardiologist twice a year for a stress test. Twice he has told me he is changing my meds but he doesn't write the prescriptions. I then go to my GP and she looks up what he is changing my meds to, shakes her head and prints off my script. A complete waste of her time and mine, is it that hard to do it himself, I mean they don't even hand write them anymore how hard can it be.
True but some of them don't want to. I remember one of the my neighbour's daughter went to Caribbean med RIGHT from High school with 60% average. And came back last summer to 'practice med in Canada'. She failed the test and obviously did not retry but whine about 'unfair treatments'. The harsher exam/trainings are for these people who try to find easier way out.
