I love hearing different people's opinions on this subject.... is fascinating. I myself, believe in god. I consider myself a spiritual person...

my other half, is the oppisite. He needs cold hard facts... science.. no spiritual bone in his body!

hmm idk what i think about it all part of me wants to believe it and part of me says no way it can be real...but my aunt is really religious and she talks to me all the time about it and that I can't form an opinion unless I have actually read into it and she is right so for now I'm kind of not sure

same with my boyfriend. he is very curious about it, but he does not understand the concept of faith, and if he cannot see it, touch it, etc etc, then he has the hardest time believing it...

he did not grow up with religion though. He thinks that most people who are religious, were "conditioned" to believe.

those are HIS thoughts though of course.

I think that a lot of churches, and pastors/preachers/etc, have very shady sides to them ( i know people are going to disagree!)..

I had attended a few churches when i was younger, and most of them (not all), were hypocritical.. the cliques in the churches were more judgemental and snobby then regular people who i met at the mall, in school, etc!

You are not better than anyone else because you go to church.

Nope, I'm an atheist.

Nope, see above answer. To even further my answer, you could even describe me as an antitheist. If there was to be a god I would wish it to be not true. The idea of unending praise is so disgusting. I would never wish to live in North Korea where that is what you do, but not to god, but to Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il. I would definitely never want their to be a god that is so petty that he needs constantly praised or he'll throw a temper tantrum.

Not in the typical sense. I do get chills from stuff because it's so awe inspiring.

Nope, because I don't think there's anyone to pray to.

I think it ruins everything. To quote Christopher Hitchens "[religions] claim to possess absolute truth and demand absolute immunity from criticism". This is not how our society should work.

I'm not really sure what this means when people say it, I also have looked up the word and still don't know what it means. I feel deeply connected with the earth, I care for other people, I am (secretly) very emotional. Does that mean I am in tune with my own "spirit". Or is it about believing in magic, because I don't.

No.

how do you feel about religion?
I don't like what religion does to people, but I find it fascinating. I love studying comparative religion and learning about different beliefs. It is an important part of culture, and despite my lack of personal belief I think it is an integral part of society. I just don't like the way that it is abused for power.

I think it would be a wonderful thing to believe in, but I don't.
