I certainly understand and agree with your ire regarding this student and (maybe) their parents. However, I did mention fear of ostracization might prevent the message from being sent in the first place. I, too, would be angry if the kid (and maybe parents) acted irresponsibly, but I think that dealing with the situation at hand might be more helpful than pointing out the poor decision-making that led to it.
Besides, the contacts within the kid's/family's list of contacts will probably have much more powerful words and effective responses than anyone outside of their social media circle of friends could ever deliver.Last edited by HermanH; Wed, Apr 7th, 2021 at 01:56 PM.

Oh, absolutely...why be held to any standards, why be held accountable?
I do agree kids have less than stellar skills when coping with situations such as these, but perhaps they needed to more fully understand the repercussions that would ensue if they decide to disobey rules put in place to protect their loved ones and others, such as "this is life and death, kiddo".
Problem is: there is no accountablilty when it comes to situations such as this, no "dealing with the situation at hand".
I'm not saying post their photos in the papers, but a more involved, in-depth education, even confinement for all of them is in order until they can behave responsibly towards all of us.
No slaps on their collective wrists will mean anything to them, nor to a loved one who ends up in ICU or the morgue.Last edited by Lynn49; Wed, Apr 7th, 2021 at 02:32 PM.

ON a much lighter note: ravens!!
We're wondering if the raven that adopted our DD at camp will remember her this spring...he so often just stood on their deck railing several feet away from her, as she sat and read on their sofa. Such elegant birds!
He must have informed his friends, since they'd congregate in their trees and follow her to our deck and perch on our trees until she returned to their trailer. They really are amazing and beautiful!

@Skippy - so sorry about your friend. Hope his wife pulls through.
Hello, everyone!
Husband went to get his first vaccine this aft. So glad he got the Pfizer, he is already at risk of blood clots and is on meds for that.
He was impressed how efficient it was all done, was in a new big arena, and he said there must have been 50 stations. Several people ahead of him had left after their 15 minute wait was over, only not to make it to their vehicles because they had some sort of delayed reaction. So anyone coming after them had to wait a half hour, just in case. He was fine.
I still don't have a date.
Nothing much new here, just mostly terrible knee pain, as well as the regular assorted owies.
Have a good evening!

Happy Thirsty Thursday ladies!
( it IS Thursday right? ) ....just checking. These days and nights of mine blend into one another more and more. Maybe blending is not the right analogy, it's more like overlapping.
Did anyone catch that fab Leaf game last night? Our goalie Campbell just set a Leaf Franchise record of 10 consecutive wins!!
He was mobbed ( deep respect ) at the end by all his teammates, especially Marner.
So today my agenda, my to-do list, my errand run does not include much.
Script P.U. , grocery curbside P.U. , maybe top up the vehicle with gas?, all exciting things to get done.
Shall I dress up fancy to make it count?
Whatever everyone's day is filled with make sure to knock back at least one coffee, tea, Red Bull ( if that's your thing ) or head straight for the booze, after all it's not called Thirsty Thursday for nothing.

Good Afternoon! Spring things have started at our house. Hubby went and got his winter tires changed to summer tires and got an oil change and verification of other auto thingys done.
