For our work, it seems to be a mix of people deciding they don't want to work anymore and finding better jobs... All I know is that the gears for me are finally moving again, our Assistant Manager Positions (Nights and Days) will be filled this week, meaning those Full-Timers positions will open up, giving me the full-time I have been waiting for...
Good morning!
@GoJays , our DD and I just love Wendy's responses to the posts they receive! Always bang-on, lol!
-4 this morning, maybe a few flakes overnight: and so it begins. However, if it can just blanket those rotting leaves, I can toss my 2 puffers until spring.
Not sure what to do today, more coffee for now.
Enjoy the day, everyone!
It is happening all over the place, we are also dealing with this.
In one of our branch's if they are able to find a new person before the end of this year that will be the third time I train that exact position this year. In my 6 years of doing the job I am in now that has never happened.
I literally walk into some of our locations and am like who are all these faces and normally I know almost all our staff whether I train them or not.
It is insane this year, I do not know how HR keeps up.
Good morning to all the hard working people online atm.
Being retired for a few years now, I've definitely lost touch with the news in the workplace.
Still seems so baffling to me that a great many businesses are having difficulty getting and keeping loyal staff.
I'm sure the pandemic has shaken a few minds up and had many rethinking what their priorities were.
It could have resulted in some leaving a job they held for many years and reaching down instead for a job on a lower rung in order to maintain their sanity.
Or vise versa, perhaps inspiring those who now saw life as short and made a choice to strive for a higher position.
As for the warehouse jobs, they can be physically demanding in the best of times, so if their job description in the last 18 months saw that workload go off the charts, I could see people packing it in.
Nothing going forward will be easy now. I hope for the best for those caught up in the thick of this.
