My Wednesday started on full rest! Woke up at 9:30 a.m. Poor Frankie Feathers, Claudius and Hamlet. If I am not tending to their food and other needs by 8 a.m. I get the " looks".




Everyone is accounted for, litter cleaned, table filled with last night's laundry all folded up, watered the window plants AND the red amaryllis bloomed open2 gorgeous flowers ! Breakfast eaten ( Yumm! ) Coffee slurped. What else is left to do?
Oh yes celebrate that crazy ( exciting ) Leaf vs Panthers game we won last night in OT. Hey Florida Panthers, bit of advice.....stop making obvious cheap shots and you'll avoid getting repeated penalties....and pffft to you scoring a shortie on us.....whatever!

I just closed the blinds on the open red flowers of the late blooming Amaryllis that I enjoyed all day!

They look very good @walkonby ! Mine looks just like yours does on the right. Very tall bud, not open yet but working on it. I bought one a year ago on clearance for $1 from Terra and somehow managed to get it to rebloom this year. The flower will be much smaller than last year but that's ok. At least it will bloom soon

woo hoo! @danger_dan you posted the trigger word! PEEPS! No you are not required to watch the whole video, that would be crazy.





@GoJays congrats on the extra bloom time you received in the 2nd year of your amaryllis, we were not successful when we tried it.
That year all 3 grew tall green leaves but no flowers came. The plant in my photo that you referred to ( on the right ), see how the one
green stalk has been cut down? Well that stalk gave us 3 huge flowers, I don't know if you're supposed to amputate the stalks like I did
once the blooms were shriveled and wilted, but I wanted all the growth and nutrients going to the new bud.
Honestly, these are really such a spirit lifter for me at Christmas and into the New Year.

Just stunned by the sudden announcement of New Zealand's PM ( Janinda Ardern ) that she is stepping down ASAP. Well once they get a replacement
I suppose? She just feels she can no longer lead the way she did in the past. She became emotional but fought off tears as she made her announcement.
There is one Late Night host who will be crying, he adores both her AND her Country.

Good morning, everyone!
@walkonby, I'm guessing those wee chicks were imprinted onto that poor cat, lol...but the look on its face! Priceless!

Just D&C-ing the house (dusting and cleaning) prior to our company dinner tomorrow, made a pecan pie for dessert which is in the fridge now, I'll take it out an hour or so before serving with ice-cream. It's not like the island where everyone walks home with a "glow", they have to drive home and it's across town so maybe there'll be takers for coffee with dessert.

Other than that...not much going on, got some snow, but it's manageable.
