Good morning everyone
Happy Friday
@walkonby Happy Belated Birthday hope you had a wonderful celebration with your family
Well.....it's Tariff day I guess? Another way to get my paranoia going.
@walkonby good morning that makes 2 of us thinking about the 25% Tariffs . Will try not to buy things coming from the US if I can avoid it.
Spending some time in figuring out how to minimize the effect of tariffs on our household. We have been Ford owners for 50 years and that stops now. We will spend our money everywhere else rather than the US. We have not travelled to the US since "he" was in office the first time. Grocery shopping will take a little longer and we may have to do without some things (peanut butter as peanuts are not grown in Canada) but we will survive. We are reading labels even more now than before and will continue to be cautious about all our purchases.
@Tweets77 I travel to the US quite often since all my relatives lives there . I don’t usually have to spend on hotels since I have a room at my Mom and my DDs have rooms at my sister since she has lots of space so going there often usuall only cost us gas and food on the trip . And since I used to live there and my kids was always going there is not much to sight see. I usuall only buy stuff if it’s cheaper that here my last 2 trips which during the Christmas holiday and then back in Jan for a funeral I brought back nothing.
I am also looking at the labels and being smart about my shop. I will be using up my stock pile until prices are good. I am more concerned about the fresh vegetables and fruits
I admire everyone on here that are taking whatever practical steps they can to buy Canadian OR buy anything except American. As coupon girl posted about her strawberries from Mexico and grapes from Peru, these small changes can still send a message to Trump about his silly tariff war. If enough shoppers buckle down to stiff him we show our Canadian Pride and strength in numbers.
It's a shame we have to boycott the entire country because it's not their fault. It's the oompa loompa causing all of this grief, but he doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself
True. The areas of the USA where they fully supported him with massive amounts of merchandise attached to their trucks and homes? I have little sympathy for them.
Many of them ARE very lovely people too, but somehow they got conned and caught up in the hype of " he's a businessman! "
Don't get me started on his Vice-Bro Elon Musk.
It's Monday again.....time to plan out my week. Stay indoors as many days as possible, cooking only when asked and binge every new tv series available to avoid watching ANY news.
Good morning everyone . Hope you all had a great weekend.
