Good morning everyone. Wishing everyone a great day today and hope everyone is feeling much better
Good morning everyone.
much cooler start to the day today...brrrr....
looking forward to the extra day off this weekend...it's coming, just on the horizon, one more work day this week...
Have a wonderful day Fam.
Oh no,no,no @Lynn49 we are not in disagreement at all. As I watched the special it brought me more info I was possibly too busy to understand at the time ( 17 years ago I was preoccupied wrangling my own 3 kids ) but I do understand and agree that Elian belonged with his Dad! No question.
The part I found heart wrenching was the method in which he was rescued back from his Miami " family ".
I can see now it had to be done that way, it was clear they were not going to voluntarily surrender him back.
Listening to his cousin, I agree again that it was as if she had found a wee puppy to keep!
I wonder if she herself has become a mother since then? If so, that should give her more perspective as a parent anguishing in the loss of a child.
Crisp morning once again, we must have had rain as I slept ( I was unaware! ) but the garden looks watered so??
Fighting the urge to go out and shop. We need very little but I'm in the mood to browse.
DS could not wait to taste the chowder, had a bowl as soon as he got in from work...lol.
It is definitely soup and stew weather now.
I hope everyone has a really good day!

Good morning!
Oh, good, @walkonby .....I get exactly what you're saying about how he was rescued, but I think Janet Reno did everything reasonably possible to deal with those people. As for the girl at the time, you're so right: maybe one day she'll understand the bond between a parent and child is more important than politics, that a child belongs with a loving parent.
9 out there this morning, with the wind, 7!! Fall is falling all over us. I thought it was supposed to be a summery weekend. So, packing another Packers sweatshirt and .... long johns??
Have a great day, everyone and is it time to say....stay warm out there?!
Huge congrats on your 1st HEART GOLD HEART

Good morning all.
Boy, it's chilly out there, but I hope it's a good one for you. :)
I was going to say "well I guess summer's over", but what summer.
They're installing a new furnace this morning. Mine was 20 years old.
I guess it's in the nick of time. :top:
Well, congrats on your GOLD heart @Newfiescreech . :)
Timing is everything, @22hicks ! :) Now on to a snuggled-in fall and winter. I imagine as a retiree I approach winter differently now than when I had to be up in the wee hours of the morning to get to work (Sears) and get locked into the cash office to get everyone's money ready for the day. It's no fun going to work in the dark, so I do feel for everyone who has to trudge through the winter going to and from work. Staying inside with hot chocolate looking out every day is a far cry for that....although I'm not exactly crying over it.. We all put in our time....
Packing for camp, leaving after lunch...DH has a "skype" meeting at our hospital here with his breathing doctor at Parry Sound's sleep clinic this morning to determine if his C-pap unit needs to be adjusted, so I'm finishing my packing.
Stay warm, everyone, it's still supposed to be a nice weekend, I think, edging into the 20s? I hope so!
An early...happy long weekend, everyone!

Just wanted to wish you a wonderful long w/end @Lynn49 .
Praying for nice sunny days, and that your foot doesn't get too painful.
Enjoy it, 'cause it'll be 8 or 9 months before you're up there again.
