I'm getting so confused, @cabmonk !
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, in my case. I mean, if I buy Starter Deck Yuya, does that mean it can't play with another starter deck? Or other types like Seto? Our GS is really into this game with his friends, but only wrt trading...when he plays with his Dad, well, playing is the wrong word...they both need to learn how to really play the game properly. I know there are books, and I did send our SIL a site that teaches it, but nothing about starter sets except that it's a good idea to buy one! Not which one! And I can't find the next set.......why couldn't he stick to Pokemon??!!!

It's pre-CHRISTMAS, @GoodBoy, of course I'm traumatized!! But in a good way.
Actually...I hadn't noticed that I'm traumatized in my posts......
Hm. So far, back to page 348...except for a tummyache, I'm not finding much trauma in my life....I'll keep checking back......hang on....
Oh, the trauma! It snowed here on page 346...Jenny woke me up early on page 350...hahaha!
Sorry to disappoint...no "trauma" here!Last edited by Lynn49; Wed, Nov 15th, 2017 at 06:46 PM.

@Lynn49 I know all about these kinds of card games like Magic the gathering etc but don't really know how they work sorry. My friends played Magic the gathering and things like that like they were athletes entering a life or death competition lol. I never got into it though.

My nephew is into playing "Magic". I can check with my other nephew about YuGeO or whatever it is called.
Whatever happened to "Snap" and "Fish?" I am easily amused, it seems.
Supposed to have a grief walk in the park tomorrow morning but it's been throwing it down and is going to freeze. I am not THAT anxious to try out my new "non-slip" boots.
Found my famous chocolate letters at Giant Tiger, of all places, today. About cleaned them out. Wouldn't be Christmas if my family didn't get their own Belgian Chocolate Letter.
Also found Licorice All Sorts for my good friend (a little joke between us each year) And a rug for the front hall And a 10' drapery rod. I did not find any .88 Duncan Hines cake muxes, though- The ones they had were .87 off but we're actually about $4, if I remember rightly.
A very productive 1/2 hour.
Got to get some shut-eye.
Good night, folks! Sleep well. Only good dreams!

soon it is sleepy time. I napped earlier but I am fighting trying to keep my eyes open. Hope everyone had a fulfilling hump day!
Oh @Lynn49 I only know the name Yu-Gi-Oh and nothing more about it. Hope you can find the best cards to get your GS and then you will be the coolest, hippest Baba! @avoncallingu I always stuff those chocolate letters in everyone's stocking each Christmas, dare I get some this year?? I have already bought a few other chocolate items for them all. Oh well, chocolate is never out of style is it?

Good morning!!!
@avoncallingu , after a couple of hours of research, I think I have a pretty good handle on which cards to start them off with...yay! Of course SIL will need his own deck to compete with GS, so that'll be tucked into one of his gifts, too....
No one here has ever been taken with those chocolate letters; funny how chocolate hasn't been a favourite since the kids were young except for chocolate cakes, ice-cream. Maybe it's because it's never been a favourite of mine; can't imagine just munching away on a hunk of chocolate like that...now filled with creamy fillings? That's another story! The more calories the better....!
So today is a quilting day since we did some running around yesterday.
I'm concerned with Hicks, however....she didn't respond to my email and she usually does in lickety-split time; I have a dreadful (traunatic?) feeling that she's in the hospital again.....I'll try calling her later this morning at home. Keeping her in my prayers.
Have a fantastic day, everyone!!

oh rats, I hope hicks is not back in the hospital....what an awful feeling not knowing? At some point she will surely touch base to let us know.
Good morning to all, oh and @danger_dan enjoy that long weekend of yours!! ( despite the sad part of accompanying your FIL to treatment )
Happy quilting to you @Lynn49 and good to know your research paid off wrt Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
I have been researching myself but not with happy results. I've been wrestling with converting for some time now .................................. ........... I mean changing my 8mm, super8, camcorder and VHS things all to digital format.
The cost to have them done is way too pricey and I do not trust my precious family footage in anyone else's hands.
Could get damaged, destroyed or lost?!
So I looked online and the price shoots from $300.00 on amazon.com to near $500.00 on amazon.ca for something called The Wolverine.
https://www.amazon.ca/Wolverine-Supe...70_&dpSrc=srch
I was almost considering it until I realized it does not convert the sound and that seems pointless?
( only our 8mm had no sound, they are hilarious to watch, but the dialogue and laughter on the Super-8 film is very much needed )
So back to the drawing board I guess. The trouble is if you are not very techie skilled then the instructions and "details " about what it does and how to do it can be mind boggling.
Also is there more than just this one thing to buy or is the list of " not included " going to be long and expensive?
gah!! maybe it is coffee time.....my brain hurts.Last edited by walkonby; Fri, Nov 17th, 2017 at 11:41 AM. Reason: mixed up the sites in message

@walkonby , my DH purchased some kind of device and transferred our DD's ballet VHS tapes to DVDs...is that the sort of thing you're wanting to do? If it is, I'll ask him for the info and pass it along to you, okay?

I just spoke with HIcks on the phone and she is at home, but she's had some set-backs, plus her bronchitis on top of it, and is spending her time recuperating. She sends her love to everyone, misses us and will come back and post when she can.
She assures us that she'll be fine, but for now, just needs her rest.
Her son will be over next week to set up her Christmas tree, so that'll be a happy addition to her days!
Jake is with her, patient as can be, and is being a nurse-maid...read: cuddler and snuggler for her.
Just letting you all know....toodles for now.
