I have "adopted" a rescue dog. In only 3 days she has become the light of my life and the reason I have to brave the cold in the mornings!
She is a purebred Coton De Tulear but, unfortunately was used as a breeding dog. She was then taken in by an older lady who really couldn't care for her needs. That poor lady passed yesterday and - kind of by default, I have become her new owner.
I took her to the vet yesterday and received a big shock. She has "the worse case of mouth infection and decay" that the vet has ever seen. The bill to get her the specialized dental surgery will rival 2 months rent.
I took a gasp, and said a prayer asking for guidance.
I can't see Tootie just cast aside. I know that she was sent my way for a reason.
Her appointment won't happen until, probably Feb. If she passes the blood tests. They tried to take her blood yesterday but her wee veins would not cooperate.
She looks like a Maltese or Havanese but much smaller. She is white with caramel coloured patches.
So, pennies in the jamjar to save up for this endeavour and wishes that she is healthy enough (as measured by the blood tests-Monday) to proceed.
Wish us well, please
