We had a very inspiring sermon at church today.

I have spent the afternoon making supper for my brotherB' s family and also for my brotherR and I.

Tootie is literally hopping around like a bunny in the field next door. She runs and hops and sniffs and is just thrilled to be outside for walks! I was laughing out loud at her.

My feet are killing me. It will be a quiet evening for sure!

I am planning to watch the closing ceremonies which, I believe, start at 6 ish?

Another Olympics in the books with it's drama and thrills and tears.

The sun's out now, even though it's suppose to be raining.

Even though my back yard's a swamp, I decided to clean up the 'gifts' Jake has left me all winter. What fun that was.

While out there, I noticed that some of my plants have starting coming up. It's only February !!! I hope they survive.
Here's a few leaves of an Iris. I haven't even cut off last year's yet.

Hi Ladies and Gents! Back from the vets.
I feel a bit better....No broken bones as far as the vet can tell without an xray.

Seems both dogs leg issues are related to their own specific back pain ( Rufus ) and neck pain ( Murphy ). Hmmmm, I guess in a way like when I get sciatica, my leg has pain BUT it is my back that is the real issue.

So they are confined to absolute REST, No jumping up or down....( not like they wanted to anyway ) No stairs, no walks allowed. That may be tricky as the back yard has deck levels that they MUST climb down at least 1 step each way to do their business ?? Oh well, I'll cross that bridge later.

They are both on a liquid NSAID for inflammation. Has to be given with food, so vet suggested human food ( boiled lean chicken breast with rice ) for a few days. Rufus has not drank any water in 2 days, absolutely refused any offered to him, so vet suggested that we remove his cone of shame as it may be causing him anxiety.

As long as he does not scratch at his left eye that has the ulcer we are good to keeping the cone off. The eye drops have been so easy to put in with that cone on though....Rufus will probably be tougher to deal with when I need to give him his doses. This may become a 2 person job every 4 hrs....lol.

Thanks for all your sweet concerns and encouraging posts about my babies!! This is exhausting emotionally because I know they are both older and I am having to face reality soon as to their final days. ugh!! " Don't go there " I tell myself but I always end up doing it anyways.

So glad hear your doggies are feeling bet better walkonby..with all loving and tender care your giving them .it wont be long and they well be back to their selfs ..have lovely weekend and take good care yourself sweetie

Morning! I'm pushing the limits on getting up. I have a dental appointment at 11. It sounds like Monday out there. Construction of a new building going on across the street. Lots of traffic. Reading Week must be over.
Got to rouse the girlie and start our day.Supposed to reach 14 here today.
