Morning folks!
Lots of driving today, tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. Some optional, some not. But the optional is the fun part.
Got to get up and pack. (After taking sweet Sadie for her morning constitutional.)
Have a great day!

Hello!
Sorry I haven't checked in lately, for some reason I seem rather busy. I know we've ventured out for this and that...today a new, larger pot for some sort of plant that's actually been growing here! DH bought me one of those baskets last year with various little plants in it, and I'd transplanted two of them into pots, and lo and behold, they're growing! It's usually survival of the fittest around here wrt plants, but these two seem to be thriving. I think one is like a sheffleura (sp?) but the other one is some sort of succulent, wish I knew what it was, but it's growing quite tall.
Anyway....I've read back some, seems everyone is keeping busy and I'm SO jealous of some of those southern temps....we're hovering around the 0 mark, +or- a few degrees, it was +5 today, and with no wind, very pleasant.
Off to crawl into bed for a good night's sleep after watching something or other I PVR'd...Sweet dreams, everyone!!

In bed in Wellesley - drove 5 hours today. It was +14 in Chatham and will be -14 here tonight. The wind was really wailing along the 401 today.
Off to Collingwood tomorrow morning.
I designed and ordered the headstone for my husband and I today. Quite a daunting task. The kind lady at the memorial place gave me a marble apple to have when I can't come to visit the actual gravesite. Lovely reminder.
Good night folks! The sandman is near to sprinkle sleep in my eyes.
Hope your travels are safe, avon.

Golden Girls:
Dorothy: Ma, what are you doing?
Sophia: Filling sandbags, Dorothy, there's a hurricane a-coming!
Dorothy: A-coming?!
Sophia: That's right. People only use the 'a' when a really big storm is a-coming or a-brewing, so grab a sack and start a-shoveling!
Dorothy: Ma, there is no hurricane a-coming.
Sophia: Don't patronize me!
Dorothy: I'm not patronizing you, I'm a-mocking you!
Lynn, Happy Birthday to your daughter! I'm guessing you can remember when she was born just like yesterday!
Freezing rain here, yuck!
Yesterday, Milan got sent home from work after lunch (they do that when there is a lack of work - seems in that business they are either crazy busy or it's crickets...), so he came here for the afternoon - such a lovely surprize! Plus he came bearing a gift - a huge ring of homemade sausage from one of his friends! So we had a great visit - plus he was sweet enough to do a quick shopping trip to London Drugs for me (I had him pick up things he wanted for himself, too). He also got a new-to-him (used) box for his truck on the weekend, so he wanted to show it off once he had it installed.
All in all, a lovely afternoon! The kitties got really confused, since that's usually their sleeping time, but since he was here they stayed up, lol!
avon, tough step to make with the headstone...
After my Dad died and we would go to the cemetery, it always bothered me to see my mom's name on it while she was still with us... she said it didn't bother her, though.
Not long after we were married, my husband had finished with one employer, and couldn't find anything in his field - and ended up finding a job with a memorial company, sandblasting monuments and markers. Yes, it seemed odd, but he knew how to sandblast and is fairly artistic so he did that for six months or so. They also appreciated that he could do any wording which was in Cyrillic.
It was in a small town just over a half hour away from the city we lived in and he left at like 6 a.m. At the time, I was teaching at a college, working mid-afternoon to mid-evening - so gee, for that time we were like ships passing in the night. Not ideal for newlyweds, but we made it work.
