@lyn49 Lol yeah I hear ya. I used to always have smoke issues from my cousins gas oven. He would give his wife and myself crap that he was the only one that cleaned the oven. I said that's between you and your wife i'm just renting here lol.

Anyway I just woke up at 2pm because I was in so much pain over night I didn't go to bed until 10am. I want this pain mostly gone by monday so I can do groceries. Because of all this pain work has given me all of next week off. My boss stopped by yesterday to see how I was doing. When he realized he woke me up in the afternoon and he saw me limping around he knew it wasn't good.

Absolutely great idea @Lynn49 , The smoke detector at the cottage is constantly going off when i'm cooking, sometimes i would love to rip it off the ceiling!Name: stock-vector-smiling-blonde-cave-woman-cartoon-mascot-character-with-good-idea-vector-illustrati.jpg

That's a little scary @Lynn49 . I'm surprised the smoke detector didn't go off, and it would be a good idea to have it checked. You'll probably never really need it, but what if .........

When I have a 'cooking issue' that smoke gets into my lungs, and I'm coughing for hours. It gives me a headache too.

I hope you'll all be 'cleaned out' soon. How are Jenny's eyes? Jake's run a lot if there's a lot of smoke. I have to use drops to calm them down.

"keep an eye on Mom when she's in the kitchen" - funny man. You can slap ur DH for me too. LOL

@cabmonk - geez, I certainly hope the pain eases up, and soon. It was certainly nice of your boss to stop by and check on you, and, give you some more time off.
Take care of yourself, and feel better soon.

I have some bad news, and some good news.

Remember all those accidents on the 401 on Thursday, well my DS was in one of them. I was so scared !!!
It was @ Whites Road & the 401.

He was stopped on the 401, inside lane. Nothing was moving, and some idiot came down the ramp, texting on his phone, @ 75 km/hr, smashing into my son's new 2016 truck. It now looks like an accordion. He just bought it in the fall, and it's a total right-off.
The other driver was unconscious, and all his air bags had deployed. There's not much left of his car; it's unrecognizable.

The good news, my DS is relatively ok. Bumps & bruises, but nothing's broken. His head & neck checked out ok too. He says he feels like he was used as a pin ball, bouncing off the dash and door.
The other driver was discharged from the hospital this afternoon.

Considering how serious it could have been, it was a relief. If they'd been in my DIL's Mini, they'd both probably be dead.

OMG, Hicks! That's so very scary! Yes, we hear these stories without really thinking it could be anyone we know. His poor truck! Will they replace it since it was under a year old?

I'm sitting at the train station waiting for my dB. His vacation starts tonight!

I have been ironing- dud you hear me? IRONING for heaven's sake! Only a trip south could motivate me to do that. My back is killing me. I know why I don't iron!
Gotta go - the train is arriving
    Bye for now!

Oh, oy! Glad your son is okay now - he'll have to watch out for a few days, just to make sure.
Hoping they throw the book at the puke who did that to him!

... well it sure worked fine last month when I used some spray on my hair, then my hot air hair curler..hahaha....As for my DH....well, you've met him...not the boistrous type, a quiet sense of humour....heaven knows he's needed one living with me for almost 47 years!

OMG, Hicks!! I just read higher up (on this tablet) about your Son!
Make sure he doesn't sign anything!! Defence lawyers will suggest he sign papers that he's okay, and there goes his court case!!
Sometimes, unfortunately, signs of more serious injuries show up a few days later...not to scare you, I'm prayingvhe's fine, but keep an eye on him.
What seems like a disaster could have been a whole lot worse, as you said, had he been in the mini. Thank heavens it was just a truck that took the brunt of the collision! Trucks are replaceable....what a scare!I
I'm so relieved to hear he's okay! Poor Mom...

Hicks, glad to hear he is going to be ok. That was a crazy accident for sure.

By the way thanks, yes I'll be ok. I still can't put much pressure on my leg but the pain is cut in half. I just hope I can walk without much pain by monday because I really want to get out lol.

We know how symptoms can show up days later, that's why he was seen on Thurs., Fri., and again today.
He's pretty sore, but pretty smart too. He knows quite a bit about the law, working with lawyers on a regular basis, of course with very different situations, so wouldn't sign anything.
It sounds like they'll replace the truck, but we'll have to wait and see.
I'm just happy he's ok. It really could have been a lot worse.
Isn't being a mom such a fun job. lol
