Good morning! What a thunderstorm we had during the night. Woke me up about 3:15AM.

Good morning!

One big thunder boom last evening, a downpour for a short while, then nothing. I was hoping for more. We have a 2x3' splat of snow left in our back yard that still survived that rain, but it won't survive me when I get out there! No snow anywhere except for ice here and there in shadows...I love it!!

Good late afternoon!!!
Dad decided this afternoon was a good day to restart some walking in walks.We did 2 streets and he was tired so normal.He dont walk fast wich is normal too.The stairs at my surprise went great,his body is not too sore !!!
But his car miss him...I dont know what to do about that...He maybe will not drive for at least another 2 weeks.And the sweet lady oldery neigbour chatted with us and said it was good to resee him in better shape!!! So that made my day!!!.Slowly but steady win the race and my dad is a champion lol.!!! But I always bring is phone in case something happen(dont know is he can fall) and I will go each time with him dont want to leave him alone in this .Altrought I can be a so protective daughter ...lol

Hello everyone! Hope you're able to take advantage of the beautiful weather, even if only going outside for a moment for some fresh air.
I ventured back to our local mall first time since last fall in search of meeting friend outside for coffee.Unless the weather stays the same it will be awhile before I go back as now you can't walk inside with a coffee.
Glad to see @Natalka posting and to see that cath007 Dad is coming along fine. Family is certainly a blessing and you two with your own situations illustrate that well.
My body is telling me that I've been on here long enough and I should be working on dinner instead.

Happy Friday gals!! ^^^

The rain is relentless and it appears it will be with us all day, so that settles it. I WILL attempt to make my very first batch of baklava. I have the phyllo pastry all thawed in the fridge from yesterday, prepped the nuts by toasting and fine grinding them, made the syrupy sweet liquid that gets poured over the top.
I stopped short of actually making my own clarified butter, will probably just melt what I need from the pound of unsalted I have.

Good afternoon all! I feel kinda waterlogged today as I had to run an errand this morning when it was pouring as I had no choice. Of course now I see the sun trying to come out but the wind is still high. All sorts of wonky weather this week!
Not sure where the entire day has gone, don't seem to have done a lot to show for it. That said all those little things add up.
A week today is Good Friday!! I thought Easter was later this year, but all of a sudden it is upon us!
No family dinner but will take dinner to those who otherwise would have nothing special themselves.
Again my body tells me I've been on here too long-sigh,but it is what it is.

Hello!!!

Nothing much new here....DD came down with an awful flu, so off for another covid test: NEGATIVE!! We're all so relieved...again!!
Thank God it's not covid!!

Grandson just walked over for a visit so he's playing chess with my Hubby who he considers his only viable competition now...hahaha! And he's right. I never wanted to learn...Hubby used to play it in local competitions so he'll be able to carry on, teaching our GS more moves.

As for me, I was working on the camp quilt until my back gave out, so I retreated to the computer to play a game or two.

The snow missed us completely!! YAY!! All our snow is gone which is an anomaly for us here...I just love this spring and you're so right, @Skippy, Easter is so early this year!! I imagine it'll be the 5 of us for dinner at our DD's home....

@walkonby, your baklava looks absolutely professional!! Some fun making it, hm?? I wonder if, by now, you've sampled it...

I might just use that nut-free recipe for Easter (GS has a nut allergy) along with the Syrnyk which my Mom made an Easter tradition. I'm not sure I'll make Easter bread, but it's so easy now with my Kitchenaid doing all the kneading which I certainly couldn't do now by hand.
