Good Morning! We had some much need rain last night, even thunder! Yesterday morning, DD and SIL came over in the morning and repaired the gate on our fence in the back yard, replacing some 4x4 posts and some 1x6 planks, and so on. This was done in the morning before it got too hot. Then they replaced a fan in our bedroom. DD and i went to Costco to pick up some Nestle Drumsticks on sale for $12.99 for 18 and 2 boxes of Tim Hortons coffee for hubby on sale for $31.99 for 80 Keurig cups each. Surprisingly enough, there werent many people there and all the cash were open.

It is so hot and humid this morning, you cant even breath outside. We have central air so it is pleasant in the house. Good day to stay in the house or by the pool. We dont have one anymore, got ride of it a 3 years ago because maintaining it was becoming a chore.

Good Sundae, everyone! I would like a 🍓 one!

Yesterday temp was down. In mid-aft there was a tornado warning, but luckily it went north of us. I don't think it touched down anywhere, but hail did some damage in some places. We just got a bit of rain, supposed to get a tad more tonight and tomorrow. Temp is 20, but humid.

Nothing new here. Same mess. Tried to stand, it is just a no-go...
I do keep my strengthening and endurance exercises up, though - whatever I can.

My second oldest sister is 70 today. That number seems odd because we didn't even get to see our Mom get to that age. Sister is quite well, thank goodness.

    Enjoy your day.

I am sneaking in a quickie post, good morning @GoJays
The cake I mixed up is almost done baking and then I get to spread a walnut/brown sugar/cream and butter topping over it and place it under the broiler for a mere 3 minutes......so stay tuned because you just know I'll burn the topping!

Well yesterday was a great sports day for some. Like our Canadian IIHF team stunning everyone by grabbing the Gold!!
Our Blue Jays did not fare well against those pesky Astros and DH was kind of bummed that I squealed when Altuve hit a HR on his first at bat. ( I could never stay mad at Jose, despite all that garbage can banging scandal ).
Montreal fans are gleefully celebrating a possible sweep of the Jets and Vegas Knights have evened the series against the Avalanche.
Have a great Monday all.....now back to my cake!

    Mmmm...it turned out so moist!

You eagle eyes may see the edges of the parchment paper where it caught fire as I tried putting it on the rack under the broiler ....that was good for a laugh! Me blowing out the paper fire. Had to lower the rack one notch!

Back from camp, first meeting with our new doctor on Wednesday, but what a gorgeous time there...31 mid-day most days, thunderboomer one evening that the vegetation really needed, but of course, there is still a fire-ban. Which is fine, I don't need a fire in mid-summer temps.

Our GS's floaty raft thing still hasn't arrived; I hope I don't just have to put a picture into his b'day card.

Nice to see everyone here is well and I hope you're all enjoying what we've waited SO LONG for...a long, hot summer!

Good eve-en-ing! (Yes, say it in that voice. You know you wanted to)

Have spent untold time last night and today deleting emails from one of my addresses - things were way out of control with the number I had - way back to before when I was last in hospital when I just did not deal with stuff like that. Well, now I am paying for it! My stupid company - Shaw - doesn't let one just delete all. It has to be done page by page, delete from inbox, then repeat and delete from trash. At least I am down to about 91% used, gah...

Many milestone events with extended families - high school grads and driver's licenses passed from great nephews and nieces.
From one of our friends, one of their sons finished medical school, and is going on to specialize in psychiatry. He got married a year ago. His younger sister just got her BSc and will begin medicine. Another son also married last year and is completing his studies to be a priest.
A nephew of ours, who already was an engineer and out working, switched to law, convocated and has begun working where he did his articling.

Such bright futures for all of them!

Nothing new here. Husband is doctoring and having some tests done. Unfortunately, he has been deluded into thinking he was still 21 instead of 70!

@Lynn49 - is that for a new family doc, or specialist? Good luck, either way.

    G'nite, all!

@Natalka , the doctor we had for quite a long time and really respected him...he always had time for the 'serious stuff' and the razzing and chatting we usually got into. We were all so sorry to see him leave.

His practice was taken over by 3 fairly new doctors, we got a Dr Graff, female, and although we hadn't met her, whenever my Hubby's INR numbers dipped or rose we knew her nurse would call at 8:30 the next morning to make sure he had called for his number, and each time he reassured her that he'd juggle his meds, and unfortunately foods like broccoli, cabbage, salad greens...a few others, can really throw his numbers off.

I hope you're getting some respite from the heat out west...we hit the 30s for the past few days, just scorchers. We could really use some over-night rain more often.

@GoJays - your meme posts usually hit my sweet spot, either in the solar plexus and/or giggles!

@Lynn49 - I know it's so very hard to lose a long-term special doctor. Ours retired about 10 years ago, and I still missed him - he passed away just several months ago, well into his 80s. My husband was a friend of his long before we got married - I suppose when he emigrated here he needed a doc who would speak Ukrainian, but they were more than just doc/patient.

The temps here have been in the mid-20s for the past few days, and will be similar for the week. Little spurts of rain every once in a while. I have been quite comfortable with that...

    Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Such horrible news with the murders in London - glad they got the sick puke who did it. I just find it hard to fathom how a 20 year old could have gotten so twisted...

Hoping @avoncallingu is doing okay. I know it's just such a very difficult time. I sure have been thinking of you!

Take care and play safe, everyone!

Good Morning. Well who would have thought the Habs would go this far. 4 straight wins against the Jets. Dont know what got into them but OK. Go Habs Go!

Natalka, that cross stitch tablecloth reminds me of the one we had at our wedding. I still have it along with the Easter ones for the Easter basket and a few other smaller items like that including the scarf my mom used when she took off my wedding veil.
