They never get old @GoJays ( your side tickling memes ).
Also, if I had known there was a job putting stickers on fruit I would have ran to that interview with all my sticker books to show how qualified I was. bwahaha!!

Dreary, wet weather is all we have now. The Butternut squash soup turned out so yummy. That must be soup of the year! well o.k. borscht is tops too and DH does love from scratch chicken noodle too, so I guess ALL soup is great for this kind of weather.
We dragged out our Panini press, filling sour dough bread with extra old Baldersons white cheddar. Sammy and soup, does it get any better?

Hope the gang here all find their way around the raindrops today.

First time I've heard of cocoa power, though. Maybe I'll try it.

    Do you add cumin?
We cheat there, @HermanH , and use the ClubHouse pkg of chili seasoning mix, so it's in there. Cocoa powder adds depth to the chili...in a 5 quart Dutch oven, a few tbsp would do the trick and no, chili won't taste chocolatey.

@HermanH everything except the meat . Half of my family members is vegetarian so this works for us and it’s yummy in our opinion. Just like @Lynn49 stated , never tried the cocoa powder or potatoes , we put red peppers and lots of cumin

I often boil a couple of potatos and smother them with chili, instead of cooking them within the chili.

What kinds of peppers does everyone like in their chili?

I often use the Jalapeno and assorted bell peppers, but have also tried the yellow, Habanero, Thai, and long peppers. The tiny Thai ones are just fiery and a little goes a looooooong way.

Well THIS is a stoopid time to be up.

Yesterday I slept in longer and finally heard our Grandson in the kitchen, alone! He was so quiet, but dressed, schookbag packed, lunch packed, and was having coffee with toaster waffles and maple syrup!! He said he usually makes an omelet for breakfast but figured it would make too much noise!!

Thank heavens I heard him before he left for school!! LOL!

He really enjoyed our 2 evenings of BLACK&WHITE movies, he enjoys them so much! We rented The Maltese Falcon from Prime on Saturday, then saw And Then There Were None Sunday evening...his introduction to Humphrey Bogart. Next time: The Big Sleep, lol!

Wrt peppers....red usually, finely diced and that's about all the fire I can handle, lol, except I do toss in a few shakes of Frank's Rec Hot but that's more heat than burn. Scotch bonnets?! Yikes! That would send me to emerg!

    Enjoy your day, folks!
That was a lot before my first sip of coffee!!

Good morning @Lynn49 yes you are here early.

You have a very thoughtful GS for being quiet so that you can sleep in.

    Have a great day everyone
