Good morning to all here! @cath007 does Eve have to take any medication for her asthma? poor thing. @GoJays that very impressive truck stacked up strategically like that makes me think they must have played a lot of Tetris in their younger days.

Still rainy weather for us, the grass and flowers love that. This morning when i was changing out Frankie's papers i noticed a rather longish feather there. Do birds naturally drop their longer feathers or is this the equivalent of him tearing his hair out in frustration?
I snapped a photo of JUST that single feather because I still cannot snap any of him, he still gets neurotic the instant the camera gets turned on. I placed a Q-tip alongside the photo for perspective. Yeah, I'm bored....lol!!!

Aw, @walkonby , poor Frankie....wish I knew how to help, I hope someone here can help.

    Have a great day, everyone.5

I just looked it up...birds do molt their wing and tail feathers, but Frankie is still so young...or is he considered a full-grown bird? He'd likely be out of the nest by now, so...perhaps call a vet to ask?

Hi folks, just popping in to touch base. It's been a while. We're having our first snowfall of the season here as I type, forecast to leave us with 5-10 cm. Hoping it melts in a day or two - we still need to put away gardening things and clean up the yard.

Hoping everyone is well. It has been a heck of a year.

Oh my goodness, no, @TrueNorthTreasures !!
You must be at a higher elevation?

It's amazing to watch Highway Thru Hell and the difference just a couple of hundred Km makes: from snow to almost balmy weather!!

I do hope it melts very soon!!

I fully understand your situation @cath007 . So many of us have endured costly vet bills at the height of our emotional pain for our furbabies. Good on you for making a plan to try and save up a bit. People repairs first, then pets.

Sleepyheads? Not I, I was out filling the gas tank, then over to NF before 8:30 this morning.
We will now have a faux " early " Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Last minute delightful change, DD can be here, if only for the meal and a few hours after, then it's back to the grind for her.

Now my heart is full. Atm I have 3 sugar pumpkins baking, after they cool down I'll diced them into chunks and freeze in sandwich sized bags for DD to take back home with her. ( she uses that in so many recipes ).
I am also making 2 sort of new things, ( for late tonight when she arrives! ) a butternut squash ravioli, using fresh Olivieri lasagna sheets. Plop down the small scoops of filling on one layer, run my wet finger all around each bundle, lay the top sheet over to seal each ravioli, cut out each with my fancy pasta cutter wheel.

Also a fresh batch of spring rolls! Filling them with cooked ground pork mixed with chopped spaghetti squash, fine diced green onion, celery leaves, soy sauce and rice vinegar. Mmmm.

Anyhow I am just having a break here until the spaghetti squash is cooling and the pumpkins are baking, smells nice already in here! Have a great day all!
