Good morning!

What a gorgeous couple of days here on the island! But, pouring rain overnight, drizzly today...certainly not the devastation some of you, family and friends have experienced.

Prayers for the families who lost lived ones in that storm.

@Lynn49 yes, we were hit.....it came in like one of those Vin Diesel movies...FAST & FURIOUS!! I am telling you I thought someone was trying to break into the house around 12:30 on Saturday. Both DS and I came running to discover it was a hailstorm!
The minute the hail started, DS said " grab the camera! " ha ha
This is what we are like now..... gotta snap a photo or it never happened.
I cannot remember a storm like this....the ice balls were...well BALLS! They pelted relentlessly all over our beautiful flowers, shrubs, the vehicle in the driveway, the gazebo roof out back. Sigh


It did not last that long, turned straight into rain but we were so shaken by it. Oh yeah....then the hydro went out and stayed out until around 10:45 p.m. Not a great Saturday. The BBQ got a workout though, we had to improvise for cooking lunch and dinner and T.O. was not an option for me.
DH's coping mechanism was to drink! and drink and drink! He just sat on the front deck, listening to tunes and getting some sun.
Naturally the sun came out right after all of this....go figure? Hope everyone else stayed safe and were not as badly impacted by the hail.

@walkonby hope you did not have lots of damages . You are correct it was fast a furious. When the warning came on my DH was mowing the lawn we yelled for him to come in but he thought he would finish before it started but he was wrong he had to run into the garage and stayed in there until it pass.

It truly had me gasping, almost not breathing out of fear. Also it sure brought into perceptive how horrified so many people who live in the USA and experience this type of storm and many other frightening, life threatening episodes with weather.
Our damage were on things that can be replanted, or replaced, so we sure do count our blessings.

A neighbour here was driving on the 407 when it began!! He kept driving! Me?? I would have veered off at the very next exit and searched for a gas station with a roof.

Cooking this morning here, being very frugal and not allowing the remaining potatoes from a 10 pound bag go rotten.

@walkonby , we did not get it nearly as bad here, no hail and the wind was not strong as even 20 minutes south of us (they had a lot more damage) or Uxbridge were a Tornado went through. I could not imagine driving in that, I almost was. I was about to walk out the door to pick up a planter for the garden and it started to spit so I waited, so grateful I did as the road I would have been on there is no where to pull off.

In QC a lots of people have no electricity unfortunnatly due to the wind and rain .Lucky us this is not our case we are not impacted we had nothing
