Managed to get a 3km run in before the weather changed. My first continuous run since April. The weather has been not conducive to outside running and my work schedule hasn’t allowed for it. Good news it that my foot is feeling good. No pain. Yay! I think I’ve crossed over the line of healing so I can get back into running. Fingers crossed.

I got in quite a bit of exercise today, since I only got called to teach for the afternoon. I spent 45min digging weeds in the morning. In the afternoon I pitched softball for my class for over 1/2hr. Unfortunately a batter hit the ball straight into my thigh…it was a slightly rubberized softball so it doesn’t look like it’ll leave too much of a bruise. Then i dug more weeds in the garden after supper, over 1hr that time.

My garden areas are smaller than they were at the old house. The yard was neglected, so there’s lots of weeds that need to be dug. Dh is working on expanding one area this year. He’d do more, but I’m forcing myself to be realistic while I try to tackle the inevitable weeds. So disappointing for a green thumb like me.

Stay the course, ignore the scale, keep doing what you've been doing. Oh sorry, these are things I need to tell myself as I crawl my way through another quick sand plateau! I'll get there, but man it can be such a letdown when that scale will not budge.

I spent 1/2hr walking around the town in the rain with the school as part of the Moose Hide Campaign. It’s too wet to dig in the garden. We are under a rainfall advisory again.

We researched trampolines that we liked that the whole family could enjoy. We put off purchasing it while we paid for some other stuff and weathered these nasty winter/spring storms. We just checked the website and not only has this trampoline jumped in price, it is now out of stock. Ugh. Kicking ourselves for not placing the order in April.

It’s free landfill weekend for our community. It’s freezing at night, so I’m not planting the garden yet, although we traditionally plant May long weekend. So I’ve been getting quite the workout trimming trees, cutting out sections of the large creeping juniper. We don’t like creeping juniper and it’s smell. There are also lots of weeds to dig too.

I managed to massacre 2/3 of the 35yr old creeping juniper bush in front of our house. Haven’t started on the roots yet and there is still a fair bit of the top to cut. Dh and the kids did 3 loads to the landfill today and more is already cut and ready to go for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the last day of the free landfill weekend. There won’t be another one until the fall.

Finally another scale reading that pleased me. This morning's drop made a milestone! The elusive 50 pound mark! I've reached it.
    Started on Jan 20th, 2022.
Not to sound like a broken record here, but I have " miles to go before I sleep "....in other words... there are more pounds that need to go, so there will be no celebratory cake for this loss.

    Carry on fellow healthy eaters.

Meal prepped today! I have been eating like crap and feeling it!

Now I have 2 dinners that I want to eat both tonight lol. I think the black bean tacos are going to win

Lunch was a boiled egg and a smoothie.

Working from home tomorrow so will make myself eggs and a piece of rye toast for breakfast. All about balance!

Trying to lose weight? Take a small plastic bag with you and force yourself to pick up litter on your journey. Don't allow yourself to bend from the waist. Do a deep knee bend for every piece of trash. Your legs will ache for days and you WILL lose weight.

My battle....aka journey into a smaller me is still ongoing. Since Jan 20th I've said adios to 55 pounds. Like many, I have an emotional attachment
to food(s). Comfort food often triggers a calming childhood memory for me so navigating away from it has been difficult.
Plus I LOVE to bake, cook, create....so that presents its own set of hurdles.
