Yes walking is great! My body feels so much better when I make sure to get my steps in!
Sunday night had a room booked at the casino and arrived there at 10am! My legs are always so tired after a night there. I walk around so much. Even the security guard told me that I was really getting my steps in haha! Back and forth to the hotel room

Another strength class tonight. Most likely 30 min intermediate upper body. Tomorrow it’s back to legs and glutes

Completed the first half of the last workout of the year. 30 min upper body strength.

Completing the last half shortly with a 30 min New Year’s Eve run with one of my Peloton instructors.

Ended 2022 with a sweaty run! Is there any other way???

I’ve been working my way back from injury and therefore not being able to run for what felt like forever so my goal was to run 3km, once I’d done that for a while comfortably I’d bump it to 4km then 5km and my goal, was to get back to get back to 10k sometime mid 2023.

Last night I did 4km easy! The time before was the 3km so progress is impressive. I could have done 5 but Dh had complained his full workout and I didn’t want him to sit around waiting for me and I didn’t want to push it too much.

The sun is set to rise in about an hour so I think we might go do our annual New Year’s Day outdoor run (once I check on the weather). If it’s too cold I’ll jump back on the tread.

    Here’s to an active 2023

So….. I did it. I made my goal last night and way sooner than I expected. I did my first 5km in what feels like forever. It felt soooooooooooo good.

Started with my 30min upper body strength class then my run. I almost cried. It’s been a long time coming with injury, medical issues and the worst part of getting in my own head. That was rough. The doubt and fear were a major blockade but I did it!

Going to keep it at 5km for a while before I push further. I’m not rushing it.

Dh and I did a brisk 5km walk this afternoon and it was windy and very chilly!

I joined a Peloton Intermediate 5 day split weight program ( 1 week program) and I completed the first class tonight with Dh. We nearly died . It was tough. It’s designed to work the whole body but by sections each class. I’m scared for tomorrow’s class. I was already doing skull crushers to the point of failure!
Then did my run but limited it to 3.25km but increased the incline. Good night, I might be dead by morning

Completed day 2 of my 5 day split strength class. It was biceps, back and legs. Man those split squats with weights were a killer. Regular squats or weighted sumo squats are ok but the splits are tough. It really make me work on my balance and each individual leg.

I didn’t run yesterday but Dh and I walked earlier in the day.

I have day 3 today after work and I’ll see if I can fit in a run but it’s not looking promising with the timeline.

Day 3 done and dusted. Wow that was rough. I came home from work exhausted and reeeeally not wanting to do it but I did. Push ups are still my nemesis but I adjusted. Thank goodness today is a rest day in that program but still I’ll run after work just no weights today. I don’t think my arms could handle it.

DH gave me the biggest guffaw while he stood at the front door getting ready to head out to work. He was facing the
large mirror, holding both his and DS's packed lunch pails, ( 1 in each hand ) and he started doing curls! bwahaha!!
I complimented his efforts but told him it may be more beneficial for him to remove half of the cookies and other
treats they have in their lunches instead of trying to burn off the calories from eating them.
I offer great advice but stop at applying to myself! lol

    @walkonby !

I didn’t want to workout last night but I did it. I showed up for me. I did keep it simple since I’d worked all day and still feeling the aftermath of my strength training. I did a 30 min tread run and felt great afterwards. Hot and sweaty but SO GOOD.

Today will be day 4 of 5 strength training when I get home. Depending on how that goes I may do another run.

I was able to take my first live run today since my coaches are in London England. I actually saw his IG story and when I did I had 25 min to make the decision to run and get ready. It was awesome. A 30 min live ride was the best way to spend my day.

I finished the day with my 4th 30 min split strength class. I’m done.
